Rosalind Picard is a professor and,director of effective computing,technology at MIT University in,Cambridge Massachusetts her story is one,of the marvelous Providence of God at,work in her life but as she tells her,story it began very early in her,school-age years with her being given,the label of being smart and not just,smart but really really smart and as she,grew into those high school years she,began to think smart people didn't,believe in God and she in fact viewed,herself as an atheist and she viewed,anybody who did believe in God as being,somewhat uneducated and uninformed well,in her high school years she was,babysitting for a Christian family and,after repeated invitations and refusals,and excuses for not going to church with,them they finally just said well hey you,don't need to go to church with us but,here's a Bible maybe you'd be interested,in reading a Bible and in fact the dad,said I would encourage you to start,reading in the book called proverbs and,so she thought to herself well the Bible,is the most published book in the world,maybe as a very smart person I should,read it and see what the Bible has to,say and so she began to read in the book,of Proverbs and as she did as she tells,her story she began to think for the,first time about the possibility that,there is a God that he might in fact,exist and she says that she came to this,strange sense of wonder about the,possibility that this God was somehow,speaking to her as she read the Bible,and again through a series of divine,providence in her life when she went off,to college she wonderfully came to an,understanding of who Christ is and she,put her trust in Christ as her Savior,this is what she said as she looks back,on that walk in that journey I once,thought I was too smart to believe in,God now I know I was an arrogant fool,who snubbed the greatest mind in the,cosmos the author of all science math,art and everything else there is to know,today I walk humbly having received the,most undeserved grace I walk with joy,alongside the most amazing companion,that anyone could ever ask for filled,with the desire to keep learning and,exploring now that my friends is an,example of finding yourself in the book,of Proverbs which is what we want to do,this morning so if you will turn again,to this wonderful little Old Testament,book that falls right after the Book of,Psalms oh it's almost right in the,middle of your Bible we want to find,ourselves in the Proverbs this morning,and what we're going to find just as she,did we can either be a fool where we can,be someone who is characterized as being,wise well look at verses 20 to 33 this,morning and as we do that I want you to,sense again the absolute urgency of,these verses as they unfold before us,the urgency of this father as he is,sharing the urgency of this mother as,she is sharing with her children and we,want to see that the choice couldn't be,more clear we choose either wisdom and,we receive great reward or we reject,wisdom and

Meet Alex Vesely, Grandson of Holocaust survivor Victor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning,

so,hello everyone i'm using hand sanitizer,that has been provided by dr bruner,and i've got a plastic shield right here,so i'm going to remove my mask,because i want everybody to be able to,see my face,as i introduce really an interesting,guest to the city of chula vista we're,so honored to have you,alex here his name is alex,vesely um frankel and he is the grandson,of victor frankl and i know that many of,you,that have gone on to the university,have had to read this book which is,called man search for meeting,and victor wrote this shortly after,world war ii but what's amazing about,this,is that he is a renowned,um psychiatrist that you would think,that with all his experiences,in the concentration camps that he would,have turned into a bitter man,instead he used that dehumanization that,he experienced,in the camps to really reverse it and,get back to healing,and really humanize himself and be able,to become,just a fabulous psychotherapist and,teacher to us,all so you have a lot to be thankful,for alex we do um for his,brilliance and his compassion and we are,so honored to,have you here to speak about your,grandfather victor e frankel,and what he did for many concentration,victims,during the holocaust and here to,conduct the interview is a very dear,friend of mine that i've met,during her creation of this exhibit,remember as the holocaust it's my dear,friend,sandy sheller and she's going to talk,about,and and alex is going to talk about the,very close connection,that her mother had with your,grandfather,and it's going to be an amazing story,alex how are you i'm good,just amazing um this is my first time,that i've met you but of course thank,you,uh facebook and instant messenger that,we can communicate,and my way of finding you was when i was,going through,the trunks of items that i had and,coming upon,a cartoon that you hadn't seen that your,grandfather did,and i believe for eight hours we were,still,trying to search what else do you have,what else do you have,what else do you have and since then,we've become,very very good buddies and,supportive of one another i don't want,to lose this this is,the first edition second edition one of,the original 60s,so please keep this in your possession,and,when we will relate we will go with this,one,what i remember about victor being,all these years here in beautiful chula,vista,he would come for passover,and i just remember that he would be,drawing,and i know there's one that he did on a,napkin and i'm still trying to find it,and when i tried to draw the napkin my,grandmother and mother were horrified,only victor can do it only victor can do,it,do you mean all the same yeah no you,know that that i had my napkin,at passover and then he had his and my,mother collected them,she was the collector because this was,the famed,victor frankel tell me,about you because,you have an incredible history and,as your grandfather would say to you,i'm victor frankl but alex vesely is my,grandson,and he has a life i want to he

okay so i am getting ready to do aries,leo and sage,hi everybody this is for aries at the,aries we doing leo and this sag,okay so aries how y'all doing today,and then i'm gonna do a collectible for,um all fire signs,oh,all right so aries,okay aries wow y'all didn't have any,patience at all,one coming up with no plans okay you,wasn't listening to your heart you,wasn't making the right,choice you want to make it a right,decision okay now you thinking about,this person that you were wit in a,relationship,but trying not to be so emotional okay,you should be trying to heal your heart,right now,yeah look like you lost hope in this,whole thing as well,yeah that's that was um,aries okay so yeah just like he was,going through some,problems okay look like um he wasn't,being patient and making a coming up,with a plan or a strategy,on how to move forward with things okay,the like things have not completed so,it's like you lost,hope because you couldn't get it,together okay you just couldn't make the,right choice,he wasn't listening to your heart he was,listening to,your heart so somebody here had a choice,of being,honest in a relationship okay,and chose not to be honest now you're at,a place of healing your heart,okay forgiving that person okay letting,go of the hurt and the pain,okay and now um there's a lot of,thinking about this person as well,no more longer no longer emotional no,more longer hurt but you steady,thinking about this person here okay and,it's like you're healing you're,you're healing your heart okay just like,you did not make the right choice,you didn't listen to your heart you,could have made something you could have,did something totally different,and you chose not to okay yeah you,couldn't come up with a plan or a,strategy,on how to move uh go about this um,situation,yeah he lost all hoping just throwing,the towel,okay like it's not completed all right,because you couldn't make the right make,up your mind,that's what this was listening to your,heart so now you're at a place of,no longer being emotional so yeah you,coming out of this,state of being depressed and worried and,doing a lot of thinking about this,person here um,aries wow,yeah it was a lot of chaos going on,okay now at a place of feeling like um,you're being seen,okay you are being seen okay,just look like you was in a in that,chaos that drama look like you're just,hiding it trying to hide from that pain,okay,you know sometimes you feel yeah you,know you fit in,aries you know you fit in,okay so you got to know you got to,believe in yourself,okay you got to believe in you all right,there's like a lot of um chaos going on,it's like he was trying to hide from,this,um problem okay but you can't hide from,this okay so it's like you're out in the,opening you being seen,okay you are being seen,okay there was a lot of drama behind us,as well so heal your heart,okay yeah,it's time for a new and renewed love is,in,um for you okay,yeah there's gonna be someone new,someone new coming your
