welcome back graduates so today i'm,going to show you how to use and set up,your quantity breaks now this is,specifically displayed on the product,page just like this and it basically,allows,to buy in bulk and save for a discount,so i'm going to show you how to set it,up and install,and so i'm going to show you the,functionality so let's say i want to,purchase instead there's nothing in my,i want to buy five for this price off,for five percent and it'll be this price,so what i would do is add to cart but,notice how it says,no discounts will be applied during,checkout so this will reflect ad,checkout it won't display on it won't,reflect on the card however but let's,just add this to cart and now i have,five and it says at the original price,but remember it's only at checkout it's,displayed let's just view checkout and,it's 64.95,now when i view checkout,it should come up with the same price,five percent off,and then also 61.71 which is,and that's what you want to see,so let's get right into it three two one,here we go,and what you're going to want to do is,go into,your theme i don't have it on this theme,because if i go and preview this theme,and i go and click on studio brew,you'll see on my,product page i only have this but i,don't have the,quantity break so we can apply it to,this theme,so as always you are going to get a,html file right over here and then a,rtf file to open up,so what i want to do first is open up my,html,and it's going to look like this so,what's going to first tell me to do is,add the section eg quantity break,so that's what i'll do,i'm going to go into here edit code,and i am going to go and,close out of those and add a new section,and i'm going to call it eg,20,breaks,as a section,and then what i want to do is i want to,open up this file right here for the,section,it's going to give me this text i'm just,going to copy and paste,copy and paste,the next thing it has me do is you know,go into my footer in the theme.liquid so,i'm going to close out of this i'm going,to go into my theme.liquid at the layout,and you can control,control f for find and i'm going to the,footer,now i'm going to just go and add the,string eg quantity breaks into,underneath my footer so i have a lot of,these already but i'm just going to add,them,right like that and i'm going to click,save,now that's basically it the hard part's,over,so what i'm going to want to do is now,add the tag,quantity break to the products that i,want this feature on,so i believe that the studio brew was,already tagged um and to make sure,you're just gonna go into,your,products here and i'm gonna start adding,them so,studio cold brew or studio brew actually,go down sometimes uh shopify has a,scroll bug so you just gotta refresh a,little bit and you'll notice that the,tag is now quantity break so i'm just,copying and pasting that,and then i can add it to another one as,well,if i want to work on that so cold brew,bottle,so once this loads i'm just going to add,this tag just to k

hello and welcome to another webcast,brought to you by nerd enterprises,incorporated and yours truly Seth David,and I've got another special webcast,planner for you for today today we're,going to do an excel webcast because we,did QuickBooks last week so now I'm,going to try and switch off a little bit,between QuickBooks and Excel and I want,to do something very special for you in,Excel we're going to talk about the,vlookup formula and we're going to talk,specifically about how to use it in,order to calculate price breaks so let's,say I have a company that I'm selling,products and I can't offer different,pricing to different customers the only,way I can do that is to justify it by,offering a quantity price discount so if,I have to set that same structure in,place for every customer and I have to,say if you order more than 100 of these,the price goes down to this and if you,order more than 500 it goes down to this,if you order more than a thousand it,goes down to this and at some point it's,anything over this quantity gets this,price and that's pretty much how I have,to structure it and Excel provides us,with the great way to be able to set up,the price break structure and then write,the formula that looks up based on the,quantity somebody has ordered it'll look,up the price and calculate the total for,you and it's wonderful and it makes,everything just perfect especially,during this 2009 holiday season so with,that said I'm going to bring you over,into my sharing screen and we're going,to share and care and it's just going to,be wonderful the most wonderful time of,the year I'm going to share my computer,screen with you I'll even go as far as,to share my desktop and over here is our,template and here's the way it works,I've already laid it out but of course,I'm going to show you how to create it,because it wouldn't be much good for me,to just show you hey and here's look,what I can do okay not great so what I,have here just to show you we're going,to kind of work backwards here's the end,result what I want to do is I want to,lay out my quantity price ranges so I,have between 1 and 99 units the unit,price is 11 95,let me widen this for a minute let me,just widen up all these columns,then between 100 and 500 basically is,1095 the actual breakpoint is the,beginning of that range and the,breakpoint is what's used in the formula,this is really just for on-screen for,visual purposes but what I had to do is,I had it laid out like this first so I,could visually see what are my break,points the break point is the beginning,of the range now I could write a formula,that takes the first three digits of,these but it won't always work because,then what happens when you get to a,thousand or what happens in the,beginning range so it's easier just to,lay it out like this and of course we,could expand upon this if you wanted if,your situation calls for a different,price break structure you can expand,upon this I'll show you how to set that,up in just a minute but

foreign,Ty breaks are a type of custom pricing,where discounts are given to customers,based on the quantity of a material item,purchased,this is particularly useful when,customers make bulk purchases,in this module learn how to add quantity,breaks to materials,head to global settings and select,materials,expand a material item by clicking on it,and the custom pricing button should,appear,this screen will pop up and you will be,able to see the different pricing levels,that you set up earlier,let's just focus on the standard price,Row for now,under the OnePlus column you can see,that the standard price is 225.49,this is the unit charge that you set up,in the material item information,the OnePlus represents the fact that,when a customer buys one pack of silver,brazing sticks they will pay this,standard price,now let's look at quantity break,discounts,click on new quantity break and enter a,number,I've put in five meaning that when a,customer buys five or more packs of the,silver brazing sticks They will receive,the discount price shown under this,column,you can add further quantity breaks for,example if I add 10 here this means that,we've now got three levels of quantity,breaks,customers will pay,225.49 per unit if they buy one,two hundred and fifteen dollars and 49,cents per unit if they buy between five,and nine,and,205.49 per unit if they buy 10 or more,quantity break discounts can also be,used in combination with pricing level,discounts,so you might end up with a pricing,structure that looks something like this,now let's go into the sales and,purchases tab to see the quantity breaks,in action,select new sale,and add the silver brazing sticks that,we've applied the quantity breaks to,here you can see that when we enter a,quantity of five the unit price changes,from 2 to 5.49 to 215.49,in summary,quantity breaks or discounts given to,customers when they make bulk purchases,they can be used in combination with,pricing level discounts and are set up,separately for each material item

for the eeo cute discount model but,we're really asking is should we take,advantage of quantity discounts so this,is our brown sugar example again where,we ever demand you notice that I put the,holding costs as the percentage of the,inventory cause what we have here is,what our supplier has given us as the,the quantity discounts these would be,our cause based on those discounts the,way we handle quantity discounts is we,calculate the dlq for each we analyzed,the quantity for validity and adjust if,necessary and then we had calculate the,total cost for each and of course our,goal is to go with the lowest total cost,okay first we calculate the individual,Leo Q's for three options and then we,determine validity i just label them q,sub 10 to stand for the $10 price and q,9.9 for the 990 price and the 90-80,price just to keep it separate again we,know that our d is ten thousand four,hundred we know our order or setup costs,or two hundred and notice in the,denominator here that since we had a,percentage our percentage was 20% in,inventory it's going to cost us ten so,we take twenty percent of that that's,how we come up with this number,similarly 20% of the 990 twenty percent,of the nine eighty these are the results,plug them into the calculator find it up,for yourself so that's how we calculate,the basic yo cube here the second thing,we do is we check for the,with our quantity discounts the first,quantity was from zero to 1499 this fits,in that range so that is still valid,our next quantity was 1502 4499 this is,less so this is not valid so we have to,change this queue to the minimum of that,quantity discount range which is 1500,same with the third our third quantity,discount is 4500 and up this is,obviously less than that it's not valid,we have to adjust to get to the minimum,of that quantity range,okay finally we look at the total cost,let the total cost we've been looking at,is our ordering cost or set-up cost plus,our holding cost for this cost,calculation we also have the cost of,inventory before we've been ignoring,that because all the cost inventory,would do would scale this time it makes,a difference so we added in so our,typical formula or order a closed or D,divided by Q times the cost per order,our holding cost is Q about our average,inventory which is Q divided by 2 times,the cost of whole I've highlighted the,Q's in red just to emphasize that we use,the adjusted Q's we do not use the EO,cubed calculation remember for nine,point nine and nine point eight we had,to go to the minimum order quantity to,get the quantity discount that's what we,use for the Q here alright for our cost,of inventory we use our annual demand,plus the cost of inventory so for the,first one which is the $10 it's ten,thousand four hundred times ten it's,what we do for our cost of inventory all,right you notice in the first one where,we use the eoq you just as we'd expect,our ordering cost and holding cost are,equal because we had the equilibrium but,what happens if the

hi,ron from clarity clarity commerce,is designed for both b2b use and to be,integrated with your back office erp,one special feature that it has is that,it comes with three different pricing,models,flat pricing pricing rules and,multi-tiered pricing,which some refer to as customer specific,pricing,this video will be covering and demoing,this last model,tiered pricing means that you can assign,tiers or price points which will be,assigned a price discount or uplift,per product here you see that i've,created retail,wholesale and distributor price points,that means that the retail visitor to a,website can have the retail price lifted,off cost or discounted off the base,price,and be a completely different price than,that for wholesale or distribution,when i edit a product you can see that i,created a price point for retail,for quantities 1 to a billion and i've,given a 36.93,adjustment off the base list priced,in this other view you can also add,dates so that when a rule is green,it's active yellow means it's not yet,active and when read,the price point has expired for,wholesale and distributors,you can see that i created three,quantity price breaks,100 units another up to a thousand and,then a thousand and up,you can see the uplift percentage,decreases as the quantity goes up,meaning the price is lower as you hit,each quantity price break,let's see how this works on a real site,here's a client that's connected to,dynamics gp where the client manages,all of their pricing tables here's a,quick screenshot of their configuration,in gp for a product,you can see the pricing for full truck,half truck less than truck all the way,up to retail price,which for this product is 24.49,uplift off cost or 803 per unit,navigating to the wine bottles all of,the prices currently displayed are,calculated as a retail price,since i haven't logged in yet we'll go,ahead and select bordeaux,then 750 milliliter and finally our,three favorite colors to choose from,i'll choose the blue bottle and double,check inventory to make,sure they've got enough in stock and add,to cart,this client's custom checkout workflow,lets me know that i have to buy this,particular bottle in cases of 16.,so i enter 4200 and update my cart,now you can see that this is over forty,four thousand dollars for the calculated,retail pricing tier,so we provided the ability to convert to,quote request if you don't have a,membership,since i do i'll go ahead and log in this,way it looks me up,sees that i'm with blackstar farms,checks the pricing table for my price,tier and auto adjusts the price from,1053 bottle,to 981 bottle for a single one up here,in the quilt cart,but my checkout tier gave me an even,bigger discount to 891 a bottle,lowering my price down about seven grand,to 37 000,i could have logged in right away and,seen all the bottles at my price tier,but for the demo i wanted to show you,multiple price points,as well as a quantity price break,working seamlessly in real time,so that's multi-tiered or c
