hello well from easy media here in this,video I'm going to show you how to,create an e ek so you head over to easy,Mediacom after login click on edit BK,and this is your apk editor you can,start by changing the title your fan,name next we can add an image or test,image here cockpit next we can add a,song take a few moments to upload and,once it's uploaded you can edit the,title next section is a buyout I've left,some default text intersections this is,to give you ideas on what you can add in,your own edk and if you notice here,there's some hashtags this is basically,marked down and means you can add style,into your text areas very easily so if I,reduce a number of hashtags to one that,should be large which is create a video,YouTube paste the URL my new single and,these are other sections that you can,add the optional so you can click here,to enable one can add a press quo or,quote from a fan edit link you can add,social network links if I just test ones,here click outside saying not a number,at the moment but if we scroll to the,top of the page and click on save it,should update after that,so what's happening here is it's,fetching the numbers from the social,network so it will automatically display,the number of followers which is quite,handy and will hopefully save you time,contact form so you can hide the form if,your way should show it and then you can,also add your own contact information so,you could add say you can also contact,maybe Pat yeah and then once it's saved,you can view your EPK by just click on,this view link yeah and this is how your,apk will look on the web let's play the,song to check if it works she does,that's quite loud okay yet that's it,that's how you create an EPA on easy,media kit let me know how you get on and,in the comments below if I can help in,any way I'll be more than happy to,alright thank you

electronic press kits have been an,important element of a band's promotion,since the very beginning of the modern,music industry but how do you even,create an epk matter of fact how do you,create one for free angela marie here,and today i want to talk to you about,how to make a great impression through,your epk by creating a landing page,right in convertkit let's dive right in,if you're not sure what an epk is let's,start with that just to make sure we're,all on the same page an epk or,electronic press kit is a digital,collection of materials about your work,as a musician that you send to,journalists and radio stations it's,essentially your professional music,resume and marketing portfolio all in,one now why exactly would you need an,epk,think about it like this it's how,journalists get to know you and your,music while your music might speak for,itself journalists who write about music,want more information that they can use,to fill out reviews and other articles,about you epks can take a lot of shapes,and forums too here are a few epks to,get your creativity flowing there's,katie kirby who's an indie folk singer,claire morales who's a dentin based,performer,and here's another example from punk,band auto bokeh beaver,now let's talk about what exactly you,should include in your epk you should,include a biography to tell the world,who you are,official links to website and social,handles,a fact sheet that includes your name,members and location,promotional photos for publicity,purposes,album streaming and download links tour,dates to help journalists prioritize,when to cover your music,song lyrics album artwork,existing press coverage any videos and,links to any press releases,now when taking all of this into,consideration some might think that,it'll cost money to put this all,together into a single epk but in,actuality there's an easy and free way,to do it let me show you how by walking,you through a quick demo in convertkit,using the band sunday crush as an,example,when you're ready to start building your,epk after you gather all your assets all,you're going to do in convertkit is,click landing page and forms in the top,navigation from here you'll find a red,button that says create new and then,select landing page,next you'll want to choose your landing,page template now feel free to take your,time here with picking one once you,decide click on choose so you can start,editing it first things first go ahead,and rename your landing page to help you,stay organized inside of your convertkit,account,from here you can start editing existing,elements by clicking on them and,replacing them with for example sunday,crush text and assets now we swapped the,existing thumbnail for the album artwork,changed the header to highlight the new,album and dropped the short biography,right into the first paragraph,then you're going to want to add your,social media links and a link to stream,your album in its entirety through,convertkit's link widget,you can also increa

HOW TO BUILD THE ULTIMATE EPK

everyone brace from water bare here and,today we are gonna look at the subject,of creating an EP cake which is an,electronic press kit so that's all your,publicity materials in one place now,where does it live you can just send out,by email you can stick on a cloud you,can do it by Dropbox or you could stick,it on your own website very usefully,there's some templates online where you,can kind of put your stuff dump it on,into the template looks super,professional really quick so examples of,those fine templates are holux sonic,bids buns oogle and ReverbNation as well,what we're going to be focusing on today,is how to stand out so the first part of,your EPK is usually a Barry oak and your,press release the two things are,slightly different that by Ogden's to be,factual,the press release tends to be telling,the story about where the band and the,other you as a solo artist where you are,right now what's the story you want to,be telling imagine there were 100 EP KS,landing on the desk of a particular,editor of a blog or a magazine the one,that gets the prints the one that gets,the story told is the one with the,interesting facts so if it's tedious get,rid of it if it's interesting make more,of it I would avoid the temptation to,try and be funny unless you can really,pull it off it rarely works it just,makes you look like you're not taking,you music that's seriously the social,media statistics are kind of what,everyone wants to have a look at what,stage it you are I wouldn't worry too,much if you saw if this is an embryonic,stage for your band and you still build,it that's called people are interested,in new music but they're gonna want to,know have you got a little bit of an,audience,we know that selling 500 units of a CD,for example or a download or t-shirt 500,units is a thing you're on your way,you're a new band people start to take,you seriously so 10,000 plus genuine,views on YouTube makes people wake up,and perhaps five or 6,000 genuine people,on your Facebook community makes people,wake up and even a number like a,thousand followers on Instagram that,significant so put that stuff down we,live in an age where this stuff,unfortunately does matter,it's evidence of you having a real,audience so section number three I,recommend you think about putting some,press quotes in here so stuff that,interesting catchy soundbite Oh get it,in there because one great quote in the,press can be recycled many times and,whilst we're on the subject of press,quotes you could consider using a,professional journalist to do that job,for you it's not that expensive so for a,hundred quid you could get somebody,who's an own journalist who writes for,recognized magazines to be telling your,story for you and that's worth,considering on that same subject the,next section that we tend to put in our,EP Kay is the visual stuff so this is,BAM photos in your EPK you've gotta be a,little bit careful here because people,definitely want a press shot which is a,distinctly different f

hello everyone this is Steve Patterson,from fan reach academy.com and this is,one in a series of training videos on,how to use WordPress to create amazing,websites for musicians it's called the,musicians ultimate guide to website,design and in this video we're going to,be talking about electronic press kits,and how to add a downloadable electronic,press kit to your WordPress website now,it's really just a simple four step,process first step what you want to do,is create your electronic press kit and,save it as a PDF now this is kind of,beyond the scope of this tutorial I'm,not going to talk about how to create a,PDF but one thing I will mention is that,a lot of people use like Microsoft Word,to create it and then save it as a PDF,now if you have links that you want,people to click on in your PDF and,you're creating it in Microsoft Word on,a Mac what's going to happen is that,you're gonna lose those links what you,want to do is actually use a program,like OpenOffice where you can actually,export the word document as a PDF and,not just you know go to file print and,then save as a PDF because if you do,that you're gonna lose the you know,ability for people to click on those,links so like I said a little mini,tutorial there just a little heads up I,guess secondly what you want to do is,create your download image and this is,completely optional so this could be,just a three step process for you,instead of a four step process but you,know download images are you know really,much more attractive than just a link so,that's one thing you want to do is,create your link and then thirdly you,want to upload your PDF and your,download image to your image library in,WordPress and fourthly you want to,insert the image into your page and then,create a link from that image to the PDF,so let's get started on showing you,exactly how to do that okay I'm here in,the media library of my wordpress,website and as you can see I've got my,awesome EPK PDF upload,and I also have my awesome EPK download,button uploaded to my library one thing,I need to get is the URL to my PDF so,I'm going to click on edit and I'm going,to come over here to this side of the,page where it says file URL I'm just,going to click and highlight that and,copy it and I'm going to use that when I,go into my page so I'm going to click on,all pages and I'm going to select you,know this would be a good thing to put,on like a bio page I'm going to put it,on the about Us page in this website I'm,gonna put it at the bottom of the page,so I'm gonna scroll down to the bottom,of the Edit window here and go down and,I'm going to select add media and put,that EPK image that I created I like,that and insert that into my page then,I'm gonna click on the image and these,two icons appear the edit image icon,appears I'm going to click on that and,then right here where it says link URL,it's gonna highlight what's in there and,I'm gonna paste over that the code that,I had just copied for my PDF and click,update okay an
