all right everybody,there is gonna become a time after,you're leveraging your network,and you're making some money and the,clients are calling,and you're gonna have to decide on a,pricing structure okay,uh this can be difficult for people,because they don't know where to start,they don't know what their photographs,are worth they don't know,how important their photographs are to,their clients,they're not quite in tune with all their,skills yet so you have to keep into,consideration where,your skills are along with how you are,able to meet your clients,needs so in in this lesson we're not,going to teach you any amount,to set your price at but i'm going to,show you some strategies that we use,and that i've used for i mean decades,okay,and these are also commonly practiced by,other photographers as well,so we're gonna start up here with,portrait uh a typical,standard practice for a pricing model,for portraits would be a session fee of,some amount,whether it's a family children you know,head and shoulders whatever,sort of photography portrait that you're,doing,you would have a fee amount now a common,fee would be like 175 dollars per the,day,and then you'd have a print price list,and your print priceless you must,figure that out you must figure out uh,all the common print sizes and then,times it by,two or four of your cost,so if your print costs you one dollar,either,charge two dollars to four dollars okay,simple as that,here's the thing about your print price,list is you want it to be a tiered,profit margin so imagine a 5x7 you're,charging times two,make sure that your profit is going,up every time somebody buys a print,that's,larger than the previous so imagine your,five by seven is,you you it costs you a dollar okay,but but you're selling it for two so,you're making a dollar okay,make sure your eight by ten which is the,next size up,would be like times four of the cost so,that your,profit continues to rise as your prints,get larger,okay you do this in a way where it,gives you in internally the incentive,to upsell to larger print sizes because,the larger the print size the larger,your profit margin okay,but you want to make your low end like a,four by six five by seven eight by ten,you wanna make,them affordable but you do wanna make,sure you're making some,amount on it honestly times two is a,little low,okay you cannot you can name your price,okay that's what's,we're photographers here we're artists,we get to really name our price but we,have to be able to back it up okay,so here's my strategy when it comes to,portraits is i set up a,a simple print price list that follows,the scale,of the common dimensions that are frame,sizes that you'd find at michael's or,at like walmart or something like that,frame sizes that are commonly,manufactured so that my,print sizes are also commonly,manufactured which brings my costs down,okay so i build a print price list all,the way up to,like 20 by 24. and then i then i go to,canvas okay then i upsell to canvas,and

here's a review of the Priceline Android,app and it's got a 4.2 on Google Play,over a million downloads it's for travel,let's open it up first I got to show you,this it's got William Shatner on the,logo here these stop this famous Star,Trek Captain Kirk actor so load up the,app here we go so you can get good,prices on hotels flights in rental cars,now here's what I noticed the app isn't,super user friendly,you definitely have more information if,you go to a browser and use Priceline or,Expedia or CheapOair or whatever random,websites you like to use I recommend,that but if you're on the go and you,need to use your phone or tablet this,will definitely work definitely make do,it's just not as user friendly so let me,show you how it works,let's do flights here so you choose your,which Airport you're coming from which,Airport you're going to go to you want,to choose your dates and so you simply,hit the date that you're leaving and the,date that you're returning so departing,and returning and it confirms it down at,the bottom for you say done you can,search just for non-stop flights if you,want and then you can hit that plus,which is a little bit small to up the,number of passengers and then you can,search for your flights now what,Priceline is known for is the deal,negotiation that's Shatner is supposedly,doing on your behalf here so and I'll,talk a little bit about that in a second,but before I do you the fares that you,normally get and see here are comparable,to what you would see online and on,their website or even if you go to Delta,Airlines website it's going to be pretty,much the same price okay,now the difference being that when you,go and use the Priceline app you can,select a flight and you can actually,choose for it to be you can choose to,bid and choose either on a hotel or a,flight or a car until you can do and,I'll show it to you on the on the hotel,because that's the one I recommend it,for with Airlines you don't you don't,necessarily get a say in what how many,how long the layover is or or what times,are leaving so I definitely don't,recommend the Priceline negotiation for,our flights but the prices are very,similar to any other website that you,would use so let's go back now with the,the main feature of Priceline being,their negotiation,I want to that's probably why you would,use this I'm going to go ahead and show,you that so you search the hotels now,you can up in the top here where it says,browse hotels you can choose name your,own price now how this works is you can,get you get one bid for the search,criteria every 24 hours,so you'd select your area you would put,in you can name your own price,essentially how this works and it's,gonna has an algorithm that you know,talks to the there's an algorithm that,talks to the reservations of the airport,and Priceline app and it figures out if,they can honor that price that your a,question so you choose the area you,choose the star level in this area,there's only two star Hotel options just,
