How to Accept Apple Pay on your Website - Part 2 - Finishing Off!

so in the last video we set up,everything we needed to setup on the,iPhone now we just need to finish,setting up the server so the first thing,we need to do is actually enable HTTPS,for our server because as you can see if,we just type this in it will actually,load because we're not serving anything,over HTTPS we don't actually have HTTP,setup yet so to get Nasus our,certificate we're going to use let's,encrypt which is the free certificate,authority that gives a SSL certificates,so we're going to install their software,we're just going to paste this in here,and we're going to hit enter and it's,already installed so what we want to do,is we want to say let's encrypt - -,Apache and it's just going to run us,through this installation so we're just,going to hit yes and - the domain name,it's gonna be Apple pay dot Frances,McNamee com hit OK just put in Francis,on haiku org,we're going to choose easy to install it,there we go we're done so if we just,actually go back to the HTTP version,you can see it's all set up,automatically that software did it force,it got the certificate force and,everything,if we click details we can see here is,our certificate,the reason we got the certificate is,Apple pay will only work if we have an,SSL certificate installed on our web,server otherwise it won't actually let,us communicate with Apple pay and we,can't actually take payments so normally,to use Apple pay you have to have the,pad Apple Developer account which is,$100 per year and that's because you,need to tell Apple who you are before,they let you use Apple pay until you be,able to do that you need to have that,special developer account the cost $100,but we can do it for free if we use a,service called stripe which is a payment,provider so we're using stripe because,not only does it mean that Apple pay is,free to set up it also makes it so much,simpler to set up because we don't have,to set up any of the other server-side,things on our server to be able to,handle the payments because if we set,all this up ourselves it would be quite,complicated but stripe makes it,extremely easy and it means we can do in,a couple of minutes so you just want to,create your account and then just put in,your details click create account and,when you have your account we want to go,to the dashboard so the reason you can,see one successful charge is because,that's what I did when I was tasking it,earlier but what we want to do is and,you can see we're in the test mode we're,not actually in live mode so that wasn't,actually a real charged so what we want,to do is we want to go up to the top,here I'm gonna click on our current,settings and you want to go over and,click on Apple pay and what you have to,do is add your domain names so as you,can see I have two domain names here,what I'm gonna do is add the new domain,name I just created Apple pay dot,Francis McNamee com don't load the,verification file and we need to upload,that to our server so what we want to do,is create a directory

so in this video we're going to be,learning how to accept apple pay as a,form of payment on a website,so what apple pay is is it's a,contactless payment system you can use,it to pay with your phone in a shop but,you can also use it to pay for things,online all you have to do is put your,fingerprint down and your credit card is,automatically charged which makes it one,of the best ways to pay for things,online it's also extremely easy to,actually add to your website,i expected it to be a lot more difficult,than it was but it actually only takes a,couple of minutes to set up,so hopefully this sounds interesting,before we get started i'm just going to,show you a quick demo of how it actually,works,so here i have a website here it's just,francis mcnamee.com and there's a,special apple pay button so all i have,to do is tap pay,and as you can see this special dialog,pops up and what it says is it chooses,the card you want to charge this is just,one of the special test cards they give,you on their website and below it it,says pay high code 10 pounds so if i put,my finger on the fingerprint sensor,it'll charge the card if it was a real,card anyway and then it'll take me to,the success page that will say that i've,actually been charged so if i just hold,down the fingerprint sensor now,it's processing and,there we go it says payment made and now,the payment has gone through obviously,this is only a sandbox it's a fake,environment but if this was a real,payment that would have been all i had,to do to pay for whatever it was i was,buying so let's get started actually,implementing this it only takes a couple,of minutes so to be able to accept apple,pay the first thing you need to do is,create an apple developer account,there's a paid account and a free,version you can use we're just going to,be using the free version,so you just click on account and sign up,so you just go to create your app id,over here and once we have our apple id,we can create a sandbox account which,will allow us to accept apple pay,payments,um in a special sandbox environment,without using real credit cards so once,you're inside of your apple account you,you're not going to get this big red box,that i have but what you want to do is,you want to click on itunes connect,and you want to click go to itunes,connect,then what you want to do is you want to,click on users and roles,and then you want to go to sandbox,testers so here you can see i have one,special sandbox account set up it's just,apple pay at highcode.org and it's just,one account what you have to do is click,this plus,and you create a special sandbox account,so once you've created your account you,want to go to settings and you want to,log into your icloud account the one you,just created the special sandbox account,so as you can see i'm logged into it the,first time you log in it's going to send,you a verification email you just have,to,click on that link and it'll take you to,the apple website and you can verify,your account but
