How to Use Microsoft Teams Effectively | Your COMPLETE Guide

How to Use Microsoft Teams Effectively | Your COMPLETE Guide

Today I'm going to show you everything you need,to get started properly with Microsoft Teams.,I'm Leila from xelplus.com and my team and I,have been using Teams for over a year now.,We switched over from Slack, and we're not looking back.,With Teams you can communicate and collaborate,in a single and secure location.,You get messaging, online meeting, calling capabilities,,live collaboration on files,,native integration with office apps,,but also integration to many non-office apps, that you're currently using.,So let me show you how you can get Teams, and how you can start using it properly.,(upbeat music),You can get to Teams by opening any browser, and going to teams.microsoft.com.,Here you need to log into your business,or educational office account.,Once you login, you can get to Teams, and you can use it over the web,,but I recommend getting the desktop app,for your workstation because it's much easier to work.,You don't have to be in the browser.,Just click here to download it.,It's also available for Mac.,You can also download Teams from the microsoft.com website, under Download Teams.,I'm going to bring up my desktop Teams app.,Now, if it's the first time you're using this, you have to log in.,I've already logged in.,So it's taking me directly to Teams.,On this side, you have menu options.,The one that you're going to use a lot is Teams.,This is where all the action, the collaboration, sharing,,everything happens.,This Teams view that you're seeing,is for an enterprise account.,If you have an education account,,you might see this view instead.,You'll just have to click a team to get to the action.,Now let's get back to the business account.,Up here, you can see the teams that you're assigned to.,So let's assume I'm a Finance Manager, I'm Xelplus, and I belong to two teams.,One is a management team that I share with other managers,in my organization.,And the other is a finance team, that I share with my direct reports.,So usually each team involves different members.,And your view of the teams that you see, depend on your rights.,So if I log in with my account,,I can see an additional team here called Team Leila, which is what we use for our everyday communication.,Inside a team you can have one or more channels.,These are generally organized by topic.,General is there by default,,and you can use this as your main channel,,but you're probably going to have different topics, within the team that you want to keep track of.,So for example, in the finance team, we want to track projects, and training conversations separately.,What if you want to add a new channel?,Well, all we have to do is go to more options here, and add the channel to this.,Depending on your rights,,you might see different options here.,So let's go ahead and add a channel for monthly reporting.,Because let's say this is a topic we want to track separately.,We don't want these conversations to be mixed up,with all the other channels that we have.,Go to add channel, type in the channel na

Adaptive Cards in Microsoft Teams using Power Automate | Beginners Tutorial

Adaptive Cards in Microsoft Teams using Power Automate | Beginners Tutorial

hello everyone reza here this video is,an introduction to adaptive cards for, microsoft teams by leveraging power, automate,we will cover the basics of adaptive, cards look at how we can deliver, actionable content directly to teams as,a message or as a post in a team's,channel or in the form of messaging, extensions,i will also showcase various scenarios,in which you can leverage adaptive cards, inside of microsoft teams so let's check,it out in action, adaptive cards provide us a whole new,way to deliver ui,these are platform agnostic snippets of,ui that are authored in json and apps, and services can openly exchange these, our focus on the app is microsoft teams,so when delivered to teams the json will, transform into the native ui,automatically adapting itself to,microsoft teams, the easiest way to get started with, adaptive cards is to check out the, samples that have been provided for us,we have been provided with a wide, variety of samples to choose, from to try out any specific sample we,can click on try it yourself,so this will take us to the adaptive, cards designer web page which allows us,to design our adaptive card, right here on the top we have been, provided with selecting the host so that,we can see how this adaptive card would, render for example microsoft teams, this is how the adaptive card would, render inside of microsoft teams,if i was to change this to the dark, theme experience for microsoft teams the, card will automatically adapt, and render the,ui json schema that gets generated for, this specific adaptive card is provided, for us right here at the bottom, and the easiest way for us to copy the, json is by clicking on copy card payload,to render these cards to microsoft teams,we have power automate actions readily, available,in power automate i will head over to,create and create a simple instant cloud, flow,a flow that will trigger manually on,click of a button i'll click create,i've given my flow a name,i'll add a new step, and search for, post adaptive card, one of the native actions for the, microsoft teams connector is post, adaptive card in a chat or a channel,i'll go ahead and select this, now you can post these cards either as,the flow bot,or,as the user the user's context under, which the flow is running,in this case i'll select the flow bot,and i would like to post this adaptive, card in either a channel,or a chat with the flow bot,or as a group chat,in this case i'll pick chat with the, flow bot since i want to send this out,to a specific recipient, and the recipient in this case will be,the user who is triggering this flow so,i'll pick the user email from dynamic, content, and adaptive card is where we need to,post the adaptive card that i copied, from copy card payload,so i'll paste that json code in here, save my flow, and for testing purposes i will click on,test, manual and i will run this flow, now once this flow triggers it will go,ahead and post an adaptive card,as the flowbot to reza who is the, recipient that's the user who's running, the flow, now

Microsoft Teams Tutorial: Create and Manage Channels

Microsoft Teams Tutorial: Create and Manage Channels

hello everyone and welcome back to our, course on Microsoft teams in this, section we've been taking a look so far,at how to create teams in numerous, different ways and how to manage members,of those teams in this module I want to,speak to you very quickly about channels, now channels are essentially kind of,like subfolders within your team so if,you can kind of relate it back to,something like Outlook you have your, team as your inbox and then you can have, your channels as similar to your sub, folders and channels are a great way of,housing conversations related to a,specific topic so for example with this,Northwind traders team that I have at,the top here I have one channel so far, that's called general and that's the one, that's automatically created when I,create the team but I can add additional, channels so for example I might want to,add a channel related to sales pitches I,might want to add a channel related to,marketing or maybe a channel related to,budget and it just means that you have, separate channels for each of those, conversations so you don't have, everybody just in the team itself, talking about lots and lots of different, topics so it keeps it targeted so in,this module I really just want to show, you how you can add channels and some of,the options you have for managing your, channels as well so let's go with this,Northwind traders team at the top here,as I've mentioned we have a general, channel now you'll see that when you, click on more options you don't actually, have the option to delete that channel,so because this is a default one that's,been created by teams it's always going,to be there and it's always gonna be at,the top of your list however you can add,to it and you can have your own channels,so to add a channel if you go up to your, team click on the three dots and you'll,see you have an option there for add, channel we now need to give our channel,a name,we can add a description and then we can,set a level of privacy so in general I,tend to keep mine on standard which, means that this channel is accessible to,everyone on the team however you do have,a private option in there as well which, means it's only accessible to a specific, group of people that you specify from, within that team and you also have a,checkbox at the bottom which says, automatically show this channel in,everyone's channel lists so whoever has, access to this Northwind traders team, when I add this new channel as long as,I've got that box ticked this new, channel is going to appear for everybody,so let's click on add and there we go I,have my new sales pitch channel I'm,gonna add one more so the same process, three dots add Channel, and there we go and you'll see within, each channel you have at the bottom an,area where you can start chatting or,start a new conversation and we are, going to move on to that in the, following modules and you also have your, links at the top for your posts files, wiki's so on and so forth as I said all,of that we can discuss in the following, modul

Managing communities & channels in Teams

Managing communities & channels in Teams

Hello everyone my name is Jace Moreno and I lead Teams Platform for our,Customer Success Organization here at Microsoft, and today I just got off a call with a customer in London, from the request of,one of our customer success managers who asked me to share, how I run and manage this channel that I operate here,in what team I'm in which is our Teams Adoption team over here at the left.,Now for some context, not only is our Customer Success Organization in this, channel but, a lot of our peers around Microsoft and, currently we have over 2500 people in this Teams Adoption channel with, somewhere around 17 or 18 channels. Now I look after again Teams Platform, globally so I manage the community and the channel here for Teams Platform, and based on the advice that I received from a lot of our Customer Success,Managers last year, we evolved how we created and managed, this channel as well as the communication strategy that I want to,share with you here for a moment because we've received a lot of good, feedback and by no means is this the right way to do things but I'm,hoping, given the nuances of your organization and your culture and the,way that you've structured your organizational teams, this might help you, come up with some clever ideas to make life easier, because let's be very clear, as a community lead, the reason I set this, channel up the way that I did and the reason I'm constantly engaging, with our Customer Success Managers, is so I can make my life easier.,So I spend less time answering the questions that I'm getting over and over, and over again and allowing people to self-serve in a way that's easy.,Now again, 2500 people. Does that reach the entire community ever?,No right? There's a lot of stuff I think that we've done here that are pretty, cool and pretty valuable. First thing that I'll show you here is,,if you click on the little information icon right here for channel info, I have, pinned a welcome message, and just to,reiterate how I did that real quick before I forget,,is hover over a channel message or an announcement, and you can pin right here and so the pinning will come up we have two pinned, chats that are sitting here right now for two really important posts and you,can update those as you see fit. Now this, welcome message here is really important. It was the very first iteration of what,we'll call the Teams Platform Pub.,So speaking to our Customer Success Managers we decided all right let's have,a regular communication strategy. Let's have a consistent, approach so every single time I post this announcement in the channel, which,is once a week, I've always got the same image in the, background, and I'll show you how to do that here in a moment.,So inside of this I tell everybody look, if you're going to pay attention to,anything that happens here with all the noise that's going on through all of,your different teams and channels, make sure that at a minimum it's the, weekly Platform Pub and I'll show you in a moment how we,make it easy

Microsoft Teams | Shared Channels Preview

Microsoft Teams | Shared Channels Preview

Hello it's Matt and welcome to Collaboration Coach.,This time we're going to look at how to create and manage shared channels.,Shared channels are a new feature for Microsoft Teams, that allow us to collaborate with people outside of our team.,So now instead of inviting guests into the team and giving them access to all the channels,,now we can invite them to a single shared channel.,It even works with people outside of our organisations.,In this video I'm going to show you how to create share and manage them, and share them externally.,Before we get started there's a couple of things you need to know about shared channels.,First of all they're still in public preview.,They've been out since March and there's no official launch date on the roadmap.,I'm using the preview version of Teams to show you how they work.,So this is my first look at shared channels for Microsoft Teams.,For this demo,,I want the Finance and the Human Resources teams to work together on a project.,I want to create a shared channel in the Finance team for them to collaborate in.,To create the shared channel in the teams app I go to the Finance team,,then I choose the ellipsis and 'add channel'.,I need to give the channel a name, and I'm going to call it 'Project A',,and in the privacy drop-down alongside 'standard' and 'private', there's a new option for 'shared'.,The next step is to choose whether to share it with everyone in my team.,In this case my team's Finance.,Now, if I want everyone in the finance team to have access to this channel, then I leave this box checked.,In this case I want to keep it private and only invite some of the Finance team, and people from other teams.,So I'm going to uncheck that box. ,I choose 'create' and it adds the channel.,The next thing it asks me to do is share the channel.,I can start typing the names of the people I want to collaborate with, and I'm going to add Amrit who is in the HR team and Sarah from Finance,,and then choose 'share'.,I can also change the role that each member has at this point,,so I'm going to make Sarah an owner,,then she'll be able to help me manage the channel. ,Then I choose 'close' and my channel will appear on the list.,You can see that it's got this 'shared' icon so I can easily see what type it is.,So far so good,,but what if I wanted to share the channel with more people later on?,Let's say I decide I want the whole of Finance to use the channel?,I can do that by right-clicking it.,I choose 'share channel',,then I choose 'share with the team you own',because I'm an owner of the Finance team.,I choose Finance from the list ,and then 'done'.,Now everyone in Finance will see the channel too.,Now what about sharing with someone who isn't in Finance or HR? ,To do that I go back to the shared channel and this time I choose 'with people',,and I'm going to choose Mark here who isn't in Finance or HR,,and then choose 'share'.,Now Mark has access.,If we take a look at the channel now you can see it has a posts and a files

Kaspersky vs Windows Defender

Kaspersky vs Windows Defender

hello and welcome to the PC security,Channel as you can see for this test we,have two VMS side by side on the left we,have Windows Defender set up and ready,to go on the right we have Kaspersky, standard a well-known third-party AV,we're going to test both these systems, against an array of malware directly, from the source we have automation, scripts that are going to visit hundreds,of malware websites and we're going to,see what the user experience looks like,on both systems as that's happening so,without further Ado let's get started, and We're Off to the Races the first, test is underway as you can see both, products are blocking threats we're,seeing alerts from both Windows Defender, and Kaspersky now while this is running,I just want to mention a couple of,things about the environment so settings, wise everything is turned on for Windows,Defender that includes blocking, potentially unwanted programs blocking, suspicious apps app and browser control,as you can see is turned on on the side,of Kaspersky it's pretty much the same,so we have blocking of potentially, malicious tools now already we've got a,few differences between the products so,Kaspersky of course has a different, reporting mechanism it's deleting, objects in real time and telling us,exactly which file is affected whereas, with Windows we just see across and then, some notifications about malware being, detected and then we have to click on,view details to see exactly what the, malware is by the way if you're noticing, the numbers on the left for links not, particularly synchronized that's because,we're running this multi-threaded so,we're starting multiple downloads at the, same time some of them may finish, earlier some of them may finish later, and that's why the numbers may not be,sequential but that's totally fine the, test is running as expected also worth, noting that Kaspersky of course has a,lot more granularity in its settings and, things that you can modify within the, fall antivirus system, that's one of the differences between,Windows Defender and some third-party,AVS is that Windows Defender is still a,bit Limited in terms of the UI another, thing worth noting is that in the case,of Kaspersky did see some web alerts in,the case of links directly being blocked,as we're trying to visit them I didn't,see anything similar with Windows,Defender but we're gonna find out, because the script does detect if a,download is blocked directly we are, going to see those numbers once the task,is complete now in the case of Kaspersky,we have few threats that still need to,be resolved apply to all delete and that, should take care of that I'm gonna do,the same for everything else also a,quick disclaimer while the tests are, running Kaspersky is a member of our, malix program which means they receive, additional reports and test data from us,however every public test you see is,always conducted independently and, there's no interference from anybody in,fact even I have no idea what's going to,happen here interestingly
