How to Use Instagram Stories - Complete Beginner's Guide

everyone in today's histogram video,we're gonna look at instagrams story on,the homepage of Instagram that's the,part that's on top of your page so if,you're not sure about using Instagram,story maybe you've never used it before,or you just don't know your way around,it creating your own post or even,viewing other people's posts this is the,right video for you and this is part of,a four-part how to use Instagram so the,previous one was the regular Instagram,feed and we walk through how to create a,profile and creating your first post and,the next two are gonna be direct,messages and IG TV so I broke up,Instagram into four different parts that,way it's easier to consume these in,shorter videos so just a little bit,about story Instagram story rolled out,in August of 2016 and he basically was a,few years after the regular Instagram,came out as an additional feature to,Instagram and what the difference is is,Instagram story basically lets you,create post and view posts for just 24,hours after 24 hours they disappear,unlike your Instagram feed where things,are there permanently unless you decide,to archive or delete them Instagram,story just makes things vanish every 24,hours and they sort of borrowed this,from snapchat snapchat did have this,option before August of 2016 but it's,rapidly grown in the last few years and,it's become much more bigger than,snapchat and he's even the bigger part,of Instagram itself so as a regular,person if you're just checking it out,it's a great way to see your friends and,see what they're up to in a regular,basis but as an Instagram influencer and,someone trying to grow their followers,and even monitize instagram it's even,bigger I'm not gonna focus on actually,monetizing growing your followers on,Instagram in this video but in the,description below there is a link to a,training for that so check that out if,that's what you want to do this is more,for beginners trying to learn how to use,Instagram story okay let's jump into the,phone so I could show you Instagram,story and if I just quickly talk about,the different things in there I have,well over a hundred videos on Instagram,and Instagram story on this channel so,if you search for anything that I just,kind of touch up on quickly you'll,probably find an entire,on this channel so make sure you,subscribe and check those up but let's,jump into the phone and use Instagram,story so I'm on a home page right here,on a brand new profile to show you how,to use this completely from scratch they,don't jump in in different profiles to,show you some more advanced options so,as you can see this is the home page,this is my profile this is the profile I,created for how to use Instagram for,beginners video so I'm gonna use the,same one again to do Instagram story,let's go back to the home page and as,you could see before I show you how to,create your own story the story tab is,basically on top so if you're following,people and those people create their,story it shows up right on top so

Beginner Instagram Stories Tutorial

hey guys welcome back to my series going,remote happy Sunday I hope you're having,a great day so far in today's video I'm,going to show you how to use Instagram,stories this is going to be more of a,beginner tutorial so if you've been,watching everyone's Instagram stories,and wondering how the heck they got them,so cute this video is going to be,helpful for you and if you are a more,advanced user I think there will be some,tricks in here that you might not know,Instagram stories aren't so much fun and,a fantastic way for you to connect with,your audience so I'm excited to share,this with you alright so the first thing,that you want to do is check for updates,Instagram is always updating and adding,new features so it's likely that there,will be even more in just a week from,now so click on the App Store then click,on your profile picture and check if,there's an update you need to make,alright so I'm going to open up,Instagram and dive into the training,right now okay so first we're going to,open it up then to create an Instagram,story you're going to click on the,little camera icon top left of your,screen okay so now this is opened up our,stories and I can go ahead and create,one so you have two options when it,comes to Instagram stories you can,simply take a picture or you can take,videos as well if I want to take a,picture I'm just going to click on the,center icon there the center circle and,that will take a photo or if I want to,take a video I'm just going to hold it,down and here is my awesome video okay,so we have those two options now I have,the camera facing towards me if I wanted,to change that I could just click the,little arrows at the bottom right of my,screen and that's going to flip over and,then display outwards there's definitely,a better word for that okay so that is,how you take a photo and how you take a,video but there's a whole lot more,within Instagram that you can do so,let's start with the basics let's say,I've taken a photo,but then I want to add to that I think,like on this little smileyface sticker,looking icon over here and it's going to,bring up a ton of options that I can,customize my story with so first we have,location I could go ahead and type in,where I'm at and any time you add an,element to your story you can simply,click on it and drag it around to move,it into position okay so that's location,let's click on the sticker again you can,mention other people so I could mention,any of my friends let's mention kami hey,Cammy and let's click on the sticker,again so we've mentioned friends and if,someone were to click on camis name here,it will actually go to her profile okay,let's click on the sticker again next we,have hash tag if you wanted to add a,hash tag to your story and then next is,a really fun one so this is gifts if,you've been wondering how does everybody,get those cute animated icons on their,story this is how they are doing it so,if you click on gift you'll see a ton of,fun options appear and you can act

Instagram Story Hacks: 5 Features You Should Use!

what's going on youtube in this video,we're talking instagram features whether,it's instagram story hacks whether it's,things you could do in instagram that,you might not have known let's just jump,right in so the first thing we'll talk,about is how to make one of your feed,posts look cool in stories so find the,feed post that you want to post on your,story press the little paper airplane,icon add the post to your story then,what you want to do is you want to,screenshot this in your story and then,crop it properly and then save that to,your photos and now while you're still,in the story creation tool,basically maximize the photo so it takes,up the entire screen so anywhere that,someone taps it'll link to the feed post,then hit the little sticker icon up top,and then scroll down to where you can,paste stickers from your camera roll and,then find a nice picture that you want,to overlay on top to basically be the,background so i have this picture of the,night sky with the moon i'll maximize it,like this and then again tap the sticker,icon go back into the photo selector,from your camera roll and then what you,just screenshotted that feed post you,tap that,and now it should look like this so now,the screenshot itself is not actually,clickable but because you maximize the,feed post in the background of the story,the whole story is tappable and that's,how you make your feed posts look cool,on stories the second thing is you know,when you're in your stories and like the,create and the boomerang stuff that is,all on the left side well you can move,that entire row to the right side super,easily so you just press the down arrow,and then up top there's that icon with,the two arrows facing the opposite way,if you tap that that whole toolbar just,jumps to the other side and i just found,out about this recently and ever since i,did i now keep my tools on the right,side because i'm right-handed and it,makes sense for where my thumb is and,while we're on this topic of like,customizable things you could do you can,actually tell instagram which camera you,want to use when you open up the stories,creation tool you tap the cog when,you're in the stories camera and then,under controls it says default to front,camera so if you turn that on every time,you go to create an instagram story the,front camera will be turned on now i,personally turn this off because a lot,of times when i'm filming instagram,stories i want to film what's in front,of me so you just turn it off another,little trick which you might know about,did you know that you can just go to,your stories camera you swipe right on,your instagram feed and it goes right to,the stories camera this next tip is a,brand new feature that came to instagram,and i'm honestly surprised that they,have it now there's a new feature called,collaboration so you know how if your,friend that's a photographer takes a,picture of you you can tag them in the,photo you can give them photo credit in,the description or in the first co

if you're struggling to get the views,that you want on your instagram stories,then these three easy content ideas,might just be the solution it's not,about hacks or beating the algorithm,it's just about finding strategic and,intentional ways that you can create,content that people actually want to,engage with and i think that these three,ideas that i'm about to share are going,to be a really helpful starting point,for you so let's just dive right in,shall we okay so one of the most common,things that absolutely kills story,engagement is unfortunately when you,share your feed content directly to your,story you know the look just like a,carousel slide in the middle of a,vertical story frame now obviously this,sucks because as creators we want to be,able to get more reach for our feed,content by sharing it to our stories it,can be a good way to kind of boost the,initial eyes on your post and maybe get,some more engagement help get your feed,content more distribution but that only,works if your story views don't totally,plummet and people are watching your,stories and then you know going to look,at your feed posts right so i've found a,much better way to share your feed,content to your story in a way that's a,lot more organic engaging it feels like,a story so people aren't as likely to,just exit out or tap on past so let's,just pop over to my profile and let's,say that i want to share this post that,i made about how to repurpose your,youtube blog and podcast content for,instagram so obviously the normal way,would just be to tap that little share,button and then you know post it on my,story,like this but like i was saying that's,kind of boring so what we're gonna do,instead is i'm gonna discard this and,i'm gonna take a screenshot,of the post and i'm just gonna go ahead,and crop it so you can just see kind of,my username and the first slide of the,post we'll tap done,now what i'm going to do is i'm going to,go over and create a story so i'm going,to take a selfie and i'm just going to,point to an area of the screen where i'm,going to end up putting my post,okay so now i can tap on the sticker,tray i can go ahead and select a picture,sticker from my camera roll and i'm,going to use the one that i just took,right and then basically all i'm going,to do,is i'm going to add some text telling,people to go ahead and check out the,post,at this point you want to give a bit of,a preview of the value that people can,expect so that they're more likely to,actually tap through and go browse the,post,and then finally because this is kind of,an unconventional way of sharing story,content you want to add some kind of,prompt like tap here so that people know,that they can actually interact with the,sticker okay once you've got your design,complete you're going to tap those three,dots and hit save okay so now is the,part where we actually make it,interactive so it functions we're going,to go out of stories we're going to go,back to that post and tap share like you,norma

there are some rumors out there that the,first instagram story of your day needs,to be a poll because that's what the,algorithm favors and i see that get,repeated all over and over again so in,the past few months i did some research,tracking stories from some of my clients,trying to spot patterns and then trying,to rework through story strategy and the,results were pretty interesting my,friends because seems like you can,actually and easily 3x your story views,by just implementing this simple yeah,let's just call it two and a half step,process and uh what a lot of people,don't know instagram insights have some,pretty interesting stats that help you,tweak your story strategy and even up,your regular content game outside of,your store pretty interesting by the way,all the things that we talk about here,today come straight from my program the,ig black fox the road map if you will,for growing a successful brand on,instagram with over 100 core lessons,talking about audience development,growth strategies the algorithm quite a,bit we also have a bunch of bonus,courses in there and access to me,personally in our mentorship community,and a lot more but we still have a few,spots available but they are closing in,pretty fast so by the time you watch,this we might be close already link is,down in the description now looking at,all the data that i got there's more or,less two and a half steps that you could,do to actually really maximize your,story gain number one,the 24-hour rule a big mistake people,make is constantly having stories on,their profile because they read it,somewhere on the internet or because i,said it at some point somehow,always have a story because stories are,important for audience development for,selling for building a relationship and,so forth so they're like i always have,to have a story in there to not lose,track of my audience the problem with,this though is the story algorithm and,this goes actually hand in hand with the,rumor that having a poll as your first,story of the day will boost your ring,because for the instagram algorithm the,story algorithm the first story of the,day is the most important one and this,single one determines your subsequent,reach of all the other stories that are,about to follow meaning if people just,don't respond the way that they should,to the first story for example by,exiting out of the stories in general or,forwarding to the next account you're,gonna lose a ton of traction and it,actually really could be a lot like i,said it seems like the fluctuation on,the story reached recently has been,bigger than it now we're gonna talk,about how to optimize for this first,story in a second but and this is very,important if you don't have a break in,your stories meaning there's absolutely,no story of you right there online this,first story stat will actually never,reset and you're sort of in the downward,spiral for multiple reasons that would,be too complicated to get into so it's,really important to always let yo

hello you guys welcome back to my,channel so lately i've been a lot more,active on my instagram with like stories,with posts i've been adding q and a's to,my stories,polls it's truly a lot of fun so i,thought with this video i just give you,guys some inspiration,and like a little tutorial on how to,make your instagram stories look a,certain way,this video is going to be some ideas on,how to edit your instagram stories if,you see any like weird embarrassing,pictures on my camera roll,just keep watching just ignore it keep,scrolling,ignore her so first things first i,opened the instagram app and i'm going,to go to my stories which is just like a,slide to the side,and what i'm going to do is scroll up,and find a picture that i like,so for this one i'm going to use this so,what you want to do first for this one,is tap the little squiggle at the top,right,it's the second and last little tab just,click on that and then you're gonna tap,the third,little option on the top which is like,the highlighter tool,and then what you're gonna do is scroll,and find whatever color you like that's,like pretty light,i usually go for like this light yellow,one and then,if you slide it like right down here,that's a color i go for a lot it's just,like a nice like beige color so what,you're gonna do is tap and hold down,and then it's gonna cover the whole,thing with this like highlighted tone,um and that's just gonna be like your,cover for it so now what you want to do,is go to one of the fonts i usually go,for this typewriter one and i'm going to,show you why,so go ahead and click on the third,option on top so that you have the,border,so with this one when you press space it,gives you this little block,if i did a space on any of the other,fonts it wouldn't show up,it just doesn't let you do it except for,this one for some reason so i'm going to,go to this typewriter letter and i'm,going to do my spaces,and pick a color and then you're just,going to want to make it like,really big so it's like a border the,hard part about this is that you can't,like it doesn't tell you where center is,it just tells you like where the edge is,for some reason so i just try and keep,it like,as center as i think and you can edit it,later i'll show you how so,now what i'm going to do is click on,this third little option on the top so,if you scroll next to the word selfie,there's like an option to add more,photos to it so click on that,and go ahead and click on another,picture that you want to add or you can,add the same one it doesn't matter,for me i'm adding a different one,because i think it looks a little better,that way,and i'm going to tap it so it has,sharper edges so you can see that this,little rectangle is like almost halfway,so i'm just going to leave it,but i mean if your rectangle was like,off to the side you could always adjust,it,if you do tap on the rectangle it's,going to cover your picture,and i know you can open like text by,tapping on the screen,but for me it's easier to jus
