ImageManager 7.6: Advanced Chkdsk Verification

hi it's carl thompson here from storage, craft i'm a sales engineer for the asia, pacific region and today i was wanting,to do a quick tutorial on the latest, version of image manager,so if you jump over to the,storagecraft.com website, hover over the support menu you'll find, the software downloads and updates, section and this is where you can get to,the latest versions of all of our, software,so i'm just going to go ahead here and, scroll down pretty much near the bottom, for, image manager and we've got version, number 7.6.0,now you can download the executable here, which you can just install over the top,of any existing version,to update it but what is wanting to take,a quick look at first is the release, notes,so this is quite a big version in terms,of the number of fixes that were, released,um you know a lot of bugs have been, addressed but there's also some new uh,features in here,so the the one i wanted to talk about, today primarily is the advanced, check disk verification feature this is,a significant benefit in the solution, around verifying these backups and the, integrity of their file systems,so you can see there's a number of other, issues which i'm not going to cover off,in this other tutorial and enhancements, but, yeah if we jump over to image manager,we'll take a look at this feature now,so in the image manager software i've,got a backup store here with a number of,backups within that so if we just take a,look here under properties, verification you will notice here a new, feature so under advanced we've got the, automatic boot and screenshot, verification,we have now additionally added in which, works in a very similar way,the check disk feature so what this will, actually,do is it will mount the volume at the,end of the day, week or month depending on which option, you specify, basically at midnight by default image, manager will do its consolidation so,midnight end of the day, image manage will do its consolidation,it will then do,its basic verification first so that's,the,md5 verification or the crc verification, and what that does is it tells us that, the image,is what shadow protect created it's,saying that's valid it's not corrupt, this image is exactly what shadow, protect created now what you've got to,understand is that shadow protect is a,sector level backup,so we're taking at a sector level i mean, particularly if you've gone in and, ticked ignore read errors, that doesn't tell us that the file, system was okay or not, corrupt it's just saying the backup is,what shadow protect created and the file, itself is not corrupt,so this is where these advanced features, are actually, opening up the backup image and, validating what's going on,so obviously with the the virtual boot, feature that leverages hyper-v or,virtualbox, that boots up the c drive and tells us,that the system is bootable with a,screenshot, what that doesn't necessarily tell us is,what about the other volume,c d e you know and is the whole volume, okay,so this is where this new feature which,is really

The above is a brief introduction to Image Manager

Let's move on to the first section of Image Manager

Image Manager Setup

Image Manager Setup

in this video we're going to talk about, configuring image manager,I've already ran through the setup the, setup is pretty simple setup it's not a,lot of options it chooses you just, selecting the defaults as you go first, thing you will see when you log in is,asking you to put a new password just, remember that password because when you, need to connect to it if the service, restarts it may prompt you for we do,have some password recovery options if,you do forget it so just right here I,can say I don't know my password when it,asks you to log in if it keeps giving, you that error message for that so image, manager is a software that we use to,like the name implies to manage the, storage craft backup images especially,if you're using a continuous incremental, when you're walking through the setup of,SPX and you select do you use continuous, incremental it'll prompt you to it'll,give you a note saying that you need to,use storage craft image manager image, manager is a separate application, because we don't have to install image, manager on every machine that has SPX,installed on it so you can have one, image manager manage multiple chains so,and then you have to tell image manager, where those chains are so that's not, through this connect agent this connect, agent over here under agent tasks is to,connect to a different image manager if,you wanted to do that in order to,connect or to show where image manager, where the backup chains are you can, right click on the white space and say, start managing or up on the top right, you can start do the same thing with, start managing folders so they come in,to start managing folders if I'm going,to a network location or a local path, local path I can just browse network, location I just have to type in that, information UNC paths not a map drive we,won't see those map drives when you hit, browse and then the difference under, here under folder type is normal normal,is if I'm actually the end destination, has my backup files in it then I want to,use normal if my end destination has, multiple folders of backup files in,those folders and subfolders then I can, actually tell it it's a backup store and, what this backup store it's going to add,any subfolder some folder auto manage, and is enabled so it's going to manage, any subfolder that's in that share,so if I have folders in there that are, backup folders that I don't want to show,up an image manager then I'd want to use, normal and then just specify each folder, that I have backup files in if you are, going to a network location you do want,to require authentication you do want to,protect that network location to try and, protect it from malware so you do want,to have authentication and not just, having an open chair you can specify, those credentials here I can type it,right and then the option to use, password open image files as if you are, using an encrypted backup chain and, during setup in SPX you chose not to,create an spk or as a password file then, you need to tell them it's manager what,th

Alamy Image Manager - Tutorial

Alamy Image Manager - Tutorial

welcome to this health video overview of,the alanine image manager we're going to,run you through a few of the main, features of the tool here we are on the, main screen when we log in and on the, left hand side here we can view our, submissions in the center as though the, images are displayed and on the right, hand side it's where we can add and, review information so everything's in,one place to keep things nice and simple,we can browse and various submissions by,clicking through the options on the left, and it will show us those images that, are associated with that particular, submission within the images themselves,we can click on them and on the right, hand side we can review the information, associated with the image including the, discoverability values we have a,mandatory tab the information has to be,added to the images and the optional tab, where we can add restrictions including, setting options for edit or any sales, and including the number of people and,the property information of the image at,the top of the middle section of the, tool and we have various filters how can, narrow down and the selection of images, you get in the center and this can be,useful if you have a lot of images and, within a submission that you need to,narrow down to find certain ones and you,can also keyword search to find images, too so to take you just through one of,the main features of the tool would be,to pack through images the new options, that are available within the alum image, manager make this a far more streamlined, process than ever before and if we take, this set of images here has an example, and the images of a shipwreck on Fraser,Island in Australia now we have a set of,images here from the same shoot and we,can select them by clicking on them, either individually or and we can click, and drag to select them,or we can hold shift and select the, first image in the series up to the last, and that will mean that we're working on,eight images for at once and from here,we can add tags to those those images, that we selected and we can remove tags,as well so looking at the basic tags,we've already added within these images,I can see that we might want to add the,tag shipwreck the simplest lap that, single tag has been added across all of,those images we can hit save and now, been applied equally if we want to just, remove a single tag from these images, and that's very easy to do so as well I,can see that the tag seaweed in here, probably isn't relevant and so it's very, easy just see that tag there delete it,save and now that tag has been removed, from each one of those images keep, things very simple and very streamlined, the other thing we can do is we can look,at which tags are common across images, and which are not so if we take this, these two images here as an example of,Salt Flats in Bolivia clearly taken from, the same sheet at the same time that day,and this image has deepak associated, with it and this image within the set, just tells me these two tags now, obviously the first i

Picture Manager - How to Use (What You Need to Know)

Picture Manager - How to Use (What You Need to Know)

Hi everybody. I'm Sean Dillman. Welcome to your  Walkthrough Wednesday. This is episode number five.,In this episode, I'm going to be showing you how  to use Microsoft Office Picture Manager. Microsoft, stopped supporting Picture Manager in about 2013  but in my opinion, the software that they put in,place, simply called "Photos", is not nearly as good. Here I am in Photos. As you can see, I've got all,of these different photos of teammates from a law firm. I can push the left and right arrow keys to,move to the left and right to see the different  photos and I can use the different buttons at the,top of the screen to Zoom. There's a garbage pail  icon so that I can delete photos. I can add photos,to a favorite list, something I don't think would  be very useful. I can rotate images. I can crop them, and there's a section over here called "Edit and  Create" that allows me to crop and add filters and, effects, draw on the images, add 3D effects, animated  text and create a video with music, and edit with, paint in 3D. While it's nice that Microsoft thought  that people would like this functionality, to me,it isn't practical and doesn't link up to the software that most people would find to be useful.,In general, to me Photos is not nearly as useful as the Picture Manager program. Funny enough, it seems, that the people at Microsoft actually know this. If you go to Google and type in "where is picture, manager" the second search result that comes up  leads to a Microsoft page called "where is picture, manager", so clearly Microsoft understands that  there's a public demand for this and they actually, made a website which shows you how to reinstall  it. So if you go to the website and follow the, instructions, you can reinstall Picture Manager. First, you need to download the installation file, and once it's downloaded, click on it to run it. If you already have a version of Office installed,,this is the first screen that you'll get. Select the option which says "add or remove features",and then hit "Continue". On the next screen, click  on "Office Tools" and then find where it says,"Microsoft Office Picture Manager". Click on the  little red 'X' and then click "Run from my Computer".,Then click continue and it will now  say that the configuration is complete, and that you need to restart your computer. You  don't actually need to restart your computer.,The next step is to go to the Start Menu or press  the Windows logo key and then type "default apps".,Once you open default apps, click on where it  says "photo viewer" and change it from "Photos",to "Microsoft Office 2010". Although it says "Office  2010", this actually means Microsoft Picture Manager.,When I return to the folder holding the staff  headshots, I now see the red Picture Manager, icons. When I click one of the files and open it, it  will now open in Microsoft Office Picture Manager.,As you can see at the top of the screen, there's  more options that you can choose from and it looks, and feels more
