so today we're going to be,doing a street walk,and then we're gonna walk through a,local mall so that i can show you the,occupancy rates after coveting the,protests,the woman that you see off there in,front of me is uh,one of the cleanup crews that the,government employs,if you notice it's fairly clean here,people drop trash all the time but these,cleanup crews go around and clean it all,up all day long,everybody's wearing masks this is,january 2020,right after new year's,so right now we're on lockdown about,a third of the businesses are working,from home,so you don't see nearly as much foot,traffic as normal,so it's going to take us about 10,minutes to get to the mall,and then about 30 minutes to walk,through it,a little bit more give or take depending,upon the pace,you see there's doing some cleaning and,i can also hear,a sidewall scrubber up here,so there's a power washer running,so monday morning usually you'd see,quite a lot more people here but,this isn't bad pleasant day,it's the middle of winter but,winter in hong kong is kind of a joke,so it's about i think about 60 to 65,fahrenheit today,some of the people here wearing jackets,and hats and,all of that but the westerners,usually are in short sleeves,okay you can see up there they're doing,uh sidewall cleaning that was the,power washer that i heard running i,we're gonna do a little diversion here,sorry about the noise i'm gonna cover,the mic a little bit,so,they're power washing off the sidewalk,here,you see they do this about once every,week or two,all that sook from the bus engines and,car engines,just gets in everything they're,constantly washing,we're almost to the mall at the crosses,here crosswalk,those green mini buses,take you almost everywhere that you need,to go and also right in front of us,there's an mtr station,we're not going to go that way the mtr,connects all of hong kong,so if you hop on that you can get pretty,much anywhere in the city within an hour,or two,npr is the train so new york new york,you call it subway,most other places the train or no,something of that nature,we have a lot of bus stops that's why,all the people were standing around over,here,so the buses are go we usually go to,places that are not serviced by the mtr,sometimes people use the buses just,because it's they can sit down and it's,a little bit more,direct,in this part of the city we have wide,sidewalks and bike paths,almost everywhere and you can see these,are bike parking,it rains a lot so a lot of people cover,the bikes but then the bikes get rusty,and people forget them,chinese restaurant local food,you can tell some of these bikes have,been sitting here a while that one's got,a flat tire this one's,locked up every once in a while the,police will come through about once,every year or two,and put removable orders on all of the,bikes and then,get rid of them,it's been a while since i did it here so,all the bike racks are full,kind of annoying,okay so there's the entrance to the mall,this is a rest

all right here we are so okay let me do,this one more time,so about an hour ago i told you guys i,was going to take you guys,to go shopping in an industrial building,and you're probably going to wonder like,why are people shopping at an industrial,building,well that's a that's a very good,question because,first of all rent is a lot cheaper in,these areas,so these buildings that you see are,actually industrial buildings and,some of them are commercial but as you,can see,the rent is a lot cheaper uh when when,you're renting in an industrial area,so for example this place right see it's,like a warehouse there's no deco,uh it's not fancy the stuff are just,stacked up in boxes,uh kind of reminds me of the costco but,um,the stuff are a lot cheaper so for,example like uh this cough drop,himalayan salt and lemon candy so good,uh this is sold for eight bucks or two,here but if you get it from a 7-eleven,it's 12 bucks,for two so you get the idea,um the place i'm taking you guys to is,actually uh,this building no wait but this building,so it's called loft hall it's called,camel paint building camel paint is a,plant of paint,and i guess they own this building and,look at how many people are actually,coming in and out of this home,it's amazing so this is where people,actually go shopping,in the area there's a lot of hidden gems,i think the last time i was here like i,don't know,maybe like oh god maybe six years ago,so you can actually get you know,textbooks,books and they come with a free shopping,cart,so all these are like warehouse sales,you can get like a nice couch,do i do you guys here do we hear music,yeah is it loud,so you can get lighting fixtures you can,get slimming products,there's lots of restaurants here too,all sorts of korean imported stuff,okay so here,uh kaidan's diet you see the waffles,the eggy the eggy snacks that we have,you can get a plate of rice here for,like,35 that's pretty good yeah,so a lot of people actually come here to,buy food and stuff and,you know you can actually get cakes uh,what is it bubble tea china's chicken,uh and then see this is actually three,buildings so if you actually look up,this is a yeah a very industrial area,and you see aunties that's hot uh,handling wires thank you,i'll take october oh not so they tell,you about the goodies that they actually,sell here,oh thank you thank you,okay so these aunties actually get paid,to handle flyers all day,and i usually just take it because they,get paid by how many flyers they,actually,hand out it's very hard work for them so,um,why not the music is loud really,okay that's weird um,let me know how's,is it better now you guys,how's the music now so these are the,flyers that the aunties just handed out,to me,and it tells me about the warehouse,sales that's in all these places,so everyone's just lining up like you,don't you can't expect it to be like a,fancy mall but if you look up,yeah see it's just like a tunnel it's,like looking out of a well,no music now uh there is music

We Spent $650 at the CHINESE BAPE STORE in HONG KONG

in the 1990s hong kong needed to replace,its outdated airport,the only problem was the same problem,that always comes up in a densely,developed city that's surrounded by,mountains,where do you put it well the answer was,actually to make the city bigger,and hong kong reclaimed 10 square,kilometers of ocean,before building what was then the,world's largest airport terminal,on top of it 20 years later that airport,is,itself now approaching capacity and 18,billion us dollars is being spent to,expand,it and the city once again,when it opened in 1998 hong kong,international airport was one of the,most advanced in the world,built on a man-made island the buildings,and transport connections were,world-class,while a dual runway layout left 28,million passengers pass through the,airport,in its first year alone,handed back to china by the british in,1997,hong kong was uniquely positioned to act,as a bridge for western companies,looking to get into those emerging,chinese markets,this and the fact that it sits less than,five hours flight from nearly half the,world's population,pushed passenger and freight volumes to,the extreme,the construction of a satellite,concourse and second terminal in 2007,as well as a midfield concourse in 2011,didn't really solve the problem,and the need to think a bit bigger,became clear,after a three-year study and a rejected,plan to try and increase the airport's,capacity by,simply improving operational efficiency,a new three-runway system was adopted,the immense project known as masterplan,2030,is basically like constructing an,entirely new airport,next to the existing one there'll be a,3.8 kilometer new runway on reclaimed,land enabling a hundred million,passengers and,some nine million tons of cargo to pass,through the airport,each year once complete,the new runway will take over operations,from the existing north runway while,it's reconfigured to allow runway 3,arrivals to access terminal 1,without having to cross the center,runway,a 280 000 square meter new passenger,concourse will support it,linking to a reconfigured and expanded,terminal 2,by a 2.6 kilometer extension to the,automated people mover,or apm running between terminal 2,and the new concourse the apm will,transport up to 10,800 passengers each hour,behind the scenes they'll also be a new,500 million us dollar,high speed baggage handling system that,can move bags three times faster,and smart tech to streamline the,departure process,with an additional 30 million passengers,using the airport each year,the existing road and transport systems,will be expanded,increasing connections to the city,proper and mainland china,to accommodate all this a further 6.5,square kilometers of land will be,reclaimed from the sea directly north of,the existing airport,due to environmental concerns over,contaminated soil and,increased shortages of materials like,marine sand the land will be built with,a process known as deep cement mixing,this involves injecting cement into soft,or conta

hello everybody,Nikki white here coming at you from Hong,Kong and today's video is about the top,things to do in Mong Kok which is where,I'm staying in a trunk on I don't know,why but there is a street called the old,fish market and it's just lined with,fish so if you're in the market for fish,come here,streets are lined with gold fish and,anything fish related they don't want,you taking pictures so I had to be,sneaky,I hate this it's like sick tadpoles on,the verge of manhood becoming frogs my,hated I hated,I hate it,if you are a plant person or love,flowers and who doesn't love flowers you,have to come to the flower market it's a,whole area of Hong Kong that is just,covered and plants flowers it smells,beautiful and I'm not a big plant person,I've by no means a plant connoisseur but,it's just so lovely to go and look at,all the different flowers something I,noticed in Hong Kong is that a lot of,the stores are open late maybe around,11:00 but they're also open later at,night,check out this ah it seemed to be pretty,common in Hong Kong that they do not,want you taking pictures or videos so,keep that in mind when you're trying to,be a sneaky video taker like me if,you're into shopping hit up the ladies,market I don't even know why it's called,this it's not really lady specific but,hey it's raining so they're packing,these up with just my life but I'll see,if I can find anything,the ladies market is an outdoor market,in Hong Kong that sprawls for quite a,few streets and this has I mean a bit of,everything and literally any knockoff,item you could want as the name would,imply sneaker Street is Street that is,lined with lots of different shoe stores,a name-brand stuff no name brand so if,you're a big shoe person definitely come,here if you're in the market for some,sneaks the you know street bird garden,so the bird garden was actually not what,I expected it to be I thought it was,going to be kind of like maybe a mini,zoo with birds and enclosures but it,seems to be like a bird market where you,can just go and buy birds and get bird,related items so obviously as a tourist,you're probably not there to buy a bird,but it's still cool to go check them out,I had a pet bird once his name was bolo,he was a little indigo budgie and,there's a parrot Bowie who I assume is a,staple there I felt bad because birds,are really smart and he's just chained,up there I hope he's happy,you stupid buggers these pigeons are the,biggest jerks they're walking around,like they own the place while the other,birds are in cages jerks,there's a mall called Langham Place,which honestly I was not expecting much,as far as malls in Hong Kong they were,all very high-end expensive designer,stuff so if you're into that cool I'm,not but this place how do pocus on her,that's my boy Butterfree was the first,time I had actually seen a Butterfree,represented at a focus center I actually,had no idea there was a little Pokemon,hub in this mall so when I went up to,the top floor and I found it
