hey there this is scott from bold apps,and today i'm going to show you how to,make the ultimate,christmas upsell which is gift wrapping,using,one of our bold apps and that is product,upsell,possibly many of you already have this,app or many of you may be trying it for,the first time,so let's get started the first thing,that you'll want to try out,is pardon me the first thing that you'll,want to do,is go over to your products section,and create a product that is going to be,your gift wrapping product,this is what you're going to upsell so,i've already created one,here what you need to do is just give it,a title,give it a little description and of,course give it a price,i've set my price at eight bucks because,that's about how good my gift wrapping,is,you can set it for whatever is,appropriate for you,gift wrapping is great because it's a,great comparison price to,many other products in your store so,next you're going to jump over to,the app you'll have to have product,upsell installed,and go over to the current offers,section and here's where we're going to,create,our upsell we've already got some other,upsells created,because this is a demo store that we're,using but we're going to create a new,one,so there's a bunch of details in here,that i'm not going to bother with,you can take the time to look through,them on your own we're just going to go,over the basics we're going to keep this,set to,offer the upsell on checkout so when,they're done shopping,they've added all their products to the,cart go to the cart and they're about to,check out that's when the upsell is,going to be triggered,uh we're gonna set up the offer give it,a quick internal name we'll call it gift,wrapping,give the offer a title we'll also call,that gift wrapping and then a,description because we're not too,creative right now we'll just leave it,as the same as the product,description uh and now you need to,select the products that we're going to,upsell well of course we've already,created that,that is our gift wrapping product so,we'll just add that,this is what's going to be triggered,upon checkout and then,next we're going to select the items,that are going to trigger the upsell,for yourselves you might want this to be,all the items in your stores that you,can offer gift wrapping on,anything and everything or maybe you,just want to offer gift wrapping on a,few items,we're not going to bother setting up a,time range or minimum or maximum,although setting up you know something,like black friday to christmas might be,a great date range,or maybe you'll want to offer gift,wrapping all year long after you see how,how successful it is we're just going to,set it up to offer gift wrapping on,one product just for the purposes of,this demonstration,and there we go we've got our upsell,created here's a quick,preview and gift wrapping let's add that,to the cart,so let's just jump over into our live,demo store,to see how this works we added the,upsell on this camera specifically so,when so

How To Add Gift Wrapping Options To Your Ecommerce Website

in this screencast i'm going to show you,how you can add the option for,gift wrapping to the items that you're,selling on your ecommerce website,if you take a look at this page here,this is an item called,monsieur madame card game it's a simple,card game costs a pound,and we've got this for sale on our,sellerdemo.com demonstration website,and at the moment it's just got an ad to,cart button and that's how you would buy,it but let's add an option here where,you can choose to have some kind of gift,wrapping,so if we go to the item manager this is,the control panel and this is a manage,items if i just change to the category,for the card games category,you'll see the item is there and so to,do this we're going to use something,called shared modifiers you can see the,link,up here and so if i click on shared,modifiers,then i'm going to add a new shared,modifier i'm going to call it gift,wrap and then click on add shared,modifier,and then we need to edit that shared,modifier and there's loads of different,options in here for modifiers but we,just use the top one which says,unnamed,and then we need to add a question here,so i'll just put it would you like,it gift,wrapped and then in the first move i'm,going to put,yes,gift wrapped and we'll give that a price,of 50p,and click on save,and the next one i'll just put no,no gift wrapping and we'll give that no,price at all,and in fact we want the no option to be,the default option so i'm just going to,click on this green arrow to move that,up to the top actually,so would you like a gift wrap and then,it would say no gift wrapping or yes,gift wrapped,and that's going to charge 50 extra so,if i click on back we just now need to,apply that to the product so if we click,on back again,and back again then if we change to the,card games category,then i click on the item code to go into,the item properties,scroll down and expand the modifier,section,so if you've already got modifiers on,the product if you're using modifiers,for something else then,or another shared modifier you would,obviously need to add this into the,shared modifier,or add it as a manual modifier but as,we're not using modifiers it's really,easy on this one,so we just choose from the drop down,there gift wrap,and click on save at the bottom and of,course we could add that to as many,items as we want,this gift wrapping option so then if i,go back to the website if i refresh this,page,you'll see now we've got the items we've,got the extra option underneath it says,would you like it gift wrapped,no gift wrapping and if i click on yes,gift wrapping that adds 50p to the price,as well,if i add that to the cart as well then,you can see it says,assume a damn card game yes gift wrapped,and that's one pound 50. so it's really,easy as well when you get the order you,can tell that they've chosen,the gift wrapping option so as i say you,can you could go into loads of items,and then apply that shared modifier in,the same way so you only set up the,share modifier

how can we increase the average order,value per customer,now here's how to do it with a simple,upsell in the shopping cart,hey jan here codingwithyan.com and today,i want to show you how to set up an,in-card upsell,just like the one you would find on pura,vida bracelets.com,where they offer you some additional,products whenever you add an item to the,card,so for instance you can see they offer,me a mystery bracelet,and this mystery ring and at first this,might seem like a minor feature,but if you can boost the revenue on a,store or increase the average order,value per customer,then one could also spend more on,customer acquisition like in social,media ads for instance,or just walk away with higher profits or,a higher return on ad spend,and this is why i like the idea and,think it's worth sharing,now development wise this is going to be,a little more advanced and we would,definitely need some javascript,to update the card without doing an,entire page refresh all the time,but as usual let's do it together step,by step and let's get started,alright so today i'm actually starting,off with a brand new copy of the,brooklyn theme,and in the history of this channel it's,actually the first time we're using,something different than debut,but the reason for that is simply,because the brooklyn theme,already comes with such an ajax card,drawer implemented,and building this functionality out from,scratch would just exceed the scope of,this video,maybe that's something for another day,let me know what you think but for now,i'm gonna stick with this one,now what i also did in advance besides,importing some of these demo products,is creating the mystery product itself,so this is actually a standalone product,just added a new one gave it a title,uploaded,an image which i actually created,microsoft paint uh,started with a 500x500 canvas coded,black added some text above,i'm sure you can figure that out and the,price is set to five euros,because on this development store all,the deals are insanely good,and then i also unchecked this check box,to track,the product quantity because i want to,make sure that this product is,always available yeah but that's,basically the setup,now what we're also going to need in,order to add this product to the cart,is it's a variant id and it's not the,one that we can find right here this is,the product id,but on shopify actually every product is,backed up with a variant and in this,case,this one product has one variant which,is the product itself,uh so we're gonna need to figure that,out and i think the easiest way to do,that is just previewing,the product page and then we can right,click anywhere on the page,just view the page source and now i will,just search for variants,and then we can see the variant id right,here,and i will take note of that if you,quickly want to make sure that you've,grabbed the right id,uh what you can do is go to your base,address and then you can just add card,slash add and then question mark and now,we pas
