Zoom View Controls: Speaker, Gallery, Side by Side, and Full Screen Views

hi this is dr. Ben video I'm a lecturer,at Cornell University and this video is,an abbreviated version of my lager zoom,tutorial for students that is just going,to go over all the different view,controls because I think this is the,most confusing part for many people so,if you've been in a meeting and heard a,phrase like oh go to speaker view and,pin the video and you have no idea what,that means,this video is for you now when you first,load zoom you will probably see pictures,of everybody about equal size like this,and this is called gallery view and this,can work well for a meeting or maybe a,small discussion based class but odds,are if you're a student attending a,traditional class or a lecture you,really just want to see a big picture of,the teacher and not tiny thumbnails of,all the students so to get to that you,can go to the upper right and switch to,speaker view which will give you one,large video in the middle and a list of,smaller thumbnails across the top now,zoom will do its best to show whoever is,currently talking here so if you have,somebody who forgot to mute their,microphone and is picking up a lot of,background noise it might show them here,instead of the teacher so to make sure,you're seeing the teacher in this case,mr. mousse is the meeting host he's the,one teaching the class you can right,click on their video and select pin,video that will make them bigger on your,screen even if somebody else talks so,odds are if you're attending an online,class the instructor might be sharing,their screen somehow either showing,PowerPoint slides or writing on a tablet,so for example we're going to have mr.,moose share a PowerPoint file here and,you can see that automatically changed,my view to what's called side by side,mode where I have a slider that I can,click and drag to change the relative,size of these two windows now I can,still switch back to gallery view here,if I want to see everyone instead of,just mr. moose by clicking gallery view,in the upper right,I can also exit side by side mode,completely by clicking on view options,and unchecking side by side mode that,will bring me back to this view where I,have the PowerPoint screen large in the,middle and the smaller thumbnails across,the top so again that's highly,customizable but can be kind of,confusing there are even more options I,have a button to swap shared screen with,video so when I'm not in side by side,mode,I don't have a slider I can't click and,drag to resize these but if I want to,swap them so mr. Roose is big and the,PowerPoint is small I can click that,button what you have to be careful about,here is if you unpin the teachers video,now it's going to show Elmo,automatically here and you can see I've,lost mr. moose I don't have all the,thumbnails across the top and I don't,have a gallery view button to switch,back so I can see every one so if this,happens and you lose track of the,teacher you have to switch back to the,shared content and that will give you,the gallery vie

How to Fix iPhone Stuck in Zoom Mode/Unlock iPhone in Zoom Mode

Zoom is a helpful feature hidden in the accessibility settings on your iPhone, ,which magnifies the entire screen so you can view everything more clearly when you need to.,However, for most of us who rarely use it, ,it could be triggered accidentally without our knowledge, ,then we’ll run into situations like this:,It went into zoom mode on the lock screen, ,and you can't invoke the keyboard to enter the passcode.,Or you can see the keyboard, ,but apparently you can’t enter the passcode properly like this.,Some users got this when the device is unlocked, ,but have no idea how to zoom it out.,Not to worry, in most cases this is not even an issue, ,just you are unaware of the way to turn it off.,In this video I’ll show you 6 different ways to bring your phone back to normal, ,additionally, I’ll show you how to disabled this zoom screen feature so it won’t happen again.,Let’s dive right in!,First, we should assume there’s no glitch related to this, ,just the zoom feature enabled and then invoked by a gesture like this.,Yes, it’s this simple, all you need to do is double tap on the screen with three fingers, ,both zoom in and zoom out share this same gesture.,Now we can unlock the screen with the passcode.,Once you know this, ,you can get your screen back to normal anytime when it’s zoomed out.,But if you want to prevent this from happening again so erratically, ,it’d be a better idea to just disable it, only to enable it when you actually need to.,So let’s head to settings, accessibility, tap zoom, then go ahead and toggle it off.,If you have tried this tap procedure multiple times to no avail, ,your next best bet to fix this would be the force restart.,For iPhone 12, is press and quickly release the volume up button, ,then press and quickly release the volume down, then press and hold the side button, ,let it go when the apple logo appears.,See, after a reboot, the screen zoomed itself out automatically.,Kindly note that this doesn’t disable the zoom feature, ,you’ll still need to toggle the switch off in settings if you’d like to.,Moving on, if force restart doesn’t resolve this, you can turn it off using iTunes or Finder.,So once open it, go to your device page, ,then scroll down and click on Configure Accessibility, ,then go ahead and deselect the Use Zoom checkbox,See, the screen is now zoomed out.,and if you go to settings now, ,you'll notice iTunes has disabled this feature for you.,Kind note that this method only works when your phone is unlocked and has trusted this computer.,So if you are on the zoomed lock screen, move on to the next one.,1 Click to enter and exit recovery mode with ReiBoot. ,You’ll find the link in the description below if you’d like to download.,So once open it, plug your phone into the computer.,Then put it into recovery mode.,Similar as to the force restart, but keep holding the side button till you see the connect to computer icon.,Then ReiBoot should recognize it and highlight the section to exit recovery mode. ,Go

- Sharing your screen in Zoom is a must-know skill,,but do you know these seven tips?,In today's video, I wanna show you,not only everything that you need to know,about screen sharing,,but things that are gonna make it so much easier for you,including how to prevent participants,from doing certain things.,Hello everyone, Scott Frisen here at Simpletivity,,helping you to get more done and enjoy less stress.,And let's start off with a shortcut key,to make your life so much simpler.,So for example, you are probably very familiar,with how to share a screen.,All you have to do is come down here,and select this button, share screen,,and that's pretty easy to bring you up,to this dialogue prompt.,But, isn't it a bit easier,if we just put alt S on our keyboard?,Alt S will also bring up that dialogue box,whether you have this window maximized,or maybe you have this minimized.,Maybe you're somewhere else.,I can just put alt S,or if you're a Mac user, you can select command shift S,,and that will immediately bring up your share dialogue.,But there's something else that I like to point out,with this is that often I will give this tip,to some of my participants,,if I want them to share their screen.,You don't know how many times I have been,trying to tell them,or try to help them navigate where to find,this share screen button.,It's so much easier if I just let them know,,hey just hit alt S on your keyboard,and we can get right to sharing your screen.,Now let's move on to tip number two,and this actually has to do with the opposite.,That is actually preventing someone,from sharing their screen.,Because you wanna be in control, right?,You want to say who and when can share their screen.,Instead of them taking over your meeting.,So what Zoom has done is they've conveniently added,a security button here in our tool bar.,And we select on security,,you can see that there's a few options here,including the ability to allow or not allow participants,to share their screens.,So here you can see I have it unchecked,,meaning, anyone who is in this meeting with me,,they cannot share their screen,unless I come in here and select this.,If I check this, now my participants,are allowed to share their screen with me,and share their screen with others.,However, this is probably on by default.,So what I like to do is going into my Zoom settings,and change it so this is unchecked by default,so I can always make sure that I remember,I don't have to remember, I should say,,to come in here and uncheck that.,So let me show you how to do that.,Here I am within my Zoom settings,,within the Zoom.us website.,And after you've logged into your account,,you want to select settings,and we are wanting to scroll down a little bit,to the second header which is called in meeting basic.,Now we wanna scroll down just a little bit further here,until we get to our screen sharing settings.,Most likely this is already set, right?,'Cause that's a standard feature within Zoom,to be able to share your s

Zoom EDU: Multi-Spotlight, Multi-Pin & Video Reordering

i'm jen hill product marketing manager,for meetings in chat,and i'm going to show you the education,use case for multi-spot light,multi-pin and gallery view reorder so,let's get started,so first of all when you're in speaker,view like this the whoever is speaking,their video,is highlighted or spotlighted,automatically,and so this is can be kind of,interrupted in a class,if a student speaks up then their video,would come across like for example if,tom said hi,then he would his video would pop up,instead of mine hi everyone thanks for,coming to our class today,exactly so if you have interrupted,students who like to speak up and you,don't want to,constantly be muting and unmuting then,the video would change,so we can solve this problem with,multi-spot lighting,so myself as the host i can make someone,a co-host,and then a host and a co-host can,spotlight,in other words a teacher and a teaching,assistant so i'm going to go ahead and,make the teaching assistant,the host the co-host so you go into the,particip,panel and hit the down arrow and you can,say make host,or make cohost i've already made tom,my co-host so you can see that i can,withdraw his co-host permission here,any case so now myself and tom can pin,certain videos,say for example we want two students to,go ahead and present to the rest of,class,you can go to their video hit those,three dots and you can now see,spotlight for everyone this changes the,view for the entire class or the entire,meeting,so i can spotlight one student and make,another,student spotlighted so now you'll notice,no matter if i'm talking who else is,talking,only these two videos will show up this,is great for a co-presentation,or class again going to those three dots,we'll remove,those spotlights so,now multi-pinning multi-pinning works,very similarly except the view,of who you spotlight or pin is only for,you,so this is a specific case of like one,student saying needs a language,interpreter or something like that they,can pin,the interpreter for their own specific,view and the whole class does not have,this view,and it's the same way to do that you can,go ahead and click those same three dots,and you'll see pin,just above spotlight now going into,gallery view,hit the view button in the right corner,and see gallery,now we can see the entire class you're,probably used to this view,what's really useful for gallery view,reordering is now i can move myself,as the teacher and i can move my,teaching assistant,to the same place and this is now the,view for everybody,and this order will not move for in,no matter who is speaking and also i can,rearrange my students,to be in the right order for roll call,and also keep track of who's talking and,move around my students according to say,discussion groups,so this is the great use case for,classes to reorder,in gallery view to multi-spotlight for,the entire meeting to make sure those,videos are spotlighted,or to multi-pin for your own personal,view

Zoom and powerpoint full screen problems

in this video I want to show you how to,get around one of the problems of,sharing PowerPoint in zoom the problem,is that to share PowerPoint you need to,run the slideshow in full screen mode,and normally when showing that on two,separate presenter a separate overhead,projector and that's okay but when we're,showing it on our desktop heart the,problem is by the name of what you're,doing it shows it fullscreen which means,it takes up the full screen and then,it's sometimes something for some people,hard to find there other applications,and even the zoom window itself let me,show you what I mean so here we are in,zoom I've set up a meeting I'm in that,meeting perhaps 5 or 10 minutes before,my audience joins I'm just getting,myself ready and I want to share the,PowerPoint presentation so at the moment,PowerPoint is running in design mode I,don't want to share design mode with my,audience I want to share the fullscreen,slides that I've created so there are,two ways to do this the first way is to,now run the presentation writing this,button here or various other options to,run it in the fullscreen and then share,it but let me show you the problem there,so I'm going to run it in full-screen in,full-screen which means I can't see,anything else so the first problem for,many people unless you know what to do,and all that show you what to do is how,do I get back to my zoom window to even,share this so the way around this on a,Mac is to hold down the command key with,your thumb and then tap the tab key,every time you tap tap the tab key it,moves to an open application on your,desktop the same works by the way on a,PC is just the alt and the tab key so,you keep your thumb on the tab the alt,or the command key on the Mac and just,keep cycling through until the cursor or,the square box lands on the application,you want to open and in this case it's,zoom I need to get up the zoom window,now so the boxes around them the zoom,window I let go of my thumb and it,brings to the front of the screen the,zoom window so I can now get the button,I want which in this case is share,screen choose the PowerPoint that's,running in full screen and share that,and off we go so we're now ready for,people to join but you see the problem,there the,first problem is once it's running in,full-screen some people struggle to find,the zoom window itself as I'm now,running it in full screen mode and,sharing this it's not too bad i can,still within zoom i can call up my chat,box and move that to one side perhaps i,can call up my breakout room dialog box,i'm going to be using that little bit,later on i can call up my participant,window for me though they just all take,up you know they're going to mask part,of the slide which isn't ideal for me,i'd really like to be able to see,everything that my audience is seeing,without anything obscured particularly,family maybe come and get them to do,some annotations and want to be able to,see everything so it's it's just a bit a,little bit of a fudge fo

How To Use Screen Zoom On a Mac

hi this is gary with macmost.com today,let me show you how to use the screen,zoom feature on your mac,macmost is brought to you thanks to a,great group of more than a thousand,supporters go to macmost.com patreon,there you could read more about the,patreon campaign join us and get,exclusive content and course discounts,so you find screen zoom in system,preferences,accessibility,and then look for zoom here on the left,now to turn it on you need to use either,a keyboard shortcut or a trackpad,gesture so if you have the keyboard,shortcut set here you can see that it's,option command 8 to turn it on also note,that option command plus and minus or,really the plus is the equals key,that will increase or decrease the,amount of zoom you can also enable a,gesture on your trackpad to do it but,we'll just stick with the keyboard,shortcut for this now there are three,types of zoom styles picture in picture,split screen and full screen let's start,by looking at picture-in-picture i'm,going to enable zoom with the keyboard,shortcut option command 8 and you can,see i get this little window here,that,zooms in on a portion of the screen as i,move,the pointer around,the rectangle changes,so i can zoom in on any part i want,let's turn it off and look at the,options here i can go to advanced here,and i can change how this rectangle,moves so right now it's only when the,pointer reaches an edge but i could set,it to continuously with the pointer or,pointer is at or near the center of the,zoomed image let's do continuously with,the pointer turn it on and you can see,now,if i'm at the upper left the pointers at,the upper left if i'm at the upper right,the pointers at the upper right,if i change to,center you can see the pointer is always,at the center unless i get to a corner,or edge of the screen also notice that,when i turn it on i can now use those,other keyboard shortcuts the command,option plus,or command option minus to change the,zoom amount other options include being,able to instantly get back to your last,zoom factor when you go back in,invert colors if i turn that on you can,see colors are inverted in the zoom area,here,i can also turn on and off smooth images,with it off i'm going to see the pixels,a lot clearer,let's zoom in a lot here and you can see,those pixels if i turn it on you can see,how it smooths it out you could also,have it flash the screen when a,notification appears and it's not in the,zoom window and you can keep the zoom,window stationary if you turn that on,and then you zoom notice that wherever i,move the pointer the zoom window stays,stationary so how do you actually move,it we have this adjust size and location,button click that and now you can move,this wherever you want so you can kind,of put it into a corner if you want,click ok and now it's always going to be,there when you're doing that you can,also adjust the size so you can drag the,edges in if you want you have options,here for controls,so here you can have a temporary zoom by,ho
