one of the several merchandising,capabilities offered by findify is the,useful function to create search,merchandising rules,this feature allows merchants to,override the order of products to find,five shows within search results,while findify's advanced ai algorithm is,best placed to dynamically rank items,within search,based on the learned preferences of each,unique shopper there will be occasions,when your specific business needs,will have to be prioritized over this,optimization,there are many ways find-fi enables you,to do this you can use any field,including a custom field,to create a specific merchandising rule,unique to your business,you can choose to include products you,want to sell more of ensuring they are,always in your shoppers search results,you can boost products so that they are,at the top of search results or you,could even pin some products to very,specific slots within the search results,feed,the opposite is also available should,you want to bury certain products at the,bottom of the search results feed,maybe a discount you don't want everyone,to see or even exclude these products,entirely from search results,depending on your strategy you also have,the option to combine these,possibilities,in the run-up to christmas you might,want to boost all red dresses but,exclude any that are on sale,let's go through an example say for,example you want to bury discounted,products,you are pushing these products in,certain marketing channels but you don't,necessarily want these discounts to be,the first thing your other shoppers see,when they go to your site,this is where you would create search,merchandising rules,you go to the find of hi dashboard and,navigate to search and then,merchandising rules,then you create a new rule first you,need to name it,this is used for internal purposes to,easily navigate across rules,let's call ours very discounted t-shirts,next we need to input the search queries,we want this rule to apply to,in this case t-shirt with and without,the hyphen,and t next you would define the,condition in this case we will select,berry,and then we want to select discount,however it is possible to merchandise,based on any field in the product field,as such maybe you want to highlight,discounted products instead,maybe you're having a store wide sale in,order to slim down your inventory levels,in this case you would boost your,discounted products you could even add,additional conditions,boost these products but exclude a,specific brand,hit preview and you see what this would,look like on your site then it's only a,matter of hitting the save button,another fantastic feature of this,capability is that findify's algorithm,will apply within any bulk actions that,you take,so in the last example of discounted,items you are boosting on your store,these items will be ranked within this,group based on the learned preferences,of the shopper,they will see the discounted items first,as you want them to but the order,they'll see them in,is t

and the first thing i want to ask is,actually,why behavioral insights why do we need,behavioral insights to understand,shopping behavior what is behavioral,insights what can it teach us,that's what we want to know so,to start i want to tell you a story,about mr spock,some of you may remember mr spock from,the tv show star trek,and in star trek you may remember that,mr spock was this,super rational person,and really making logical decisions,having clear preferences,not swayed by emotions almost like a,computer,mr spock makes plans he based on,available information and a cold,calculation of the costs and,benefits and then he follows through,with them,which means that mr spock he always,makes all the right decision he never,makes any mistakes,he's the perfect person he exercises he,eats right he saves money for his,pension and he doesn't smoke,we all want to think that we're a little,bit like mr smoke,like mr spock at least partially that we,are rational that we can make the right,decision,and actually that's what economists have,assumed,for ages but then came psychologists,and showed us that in reality we're,actually a bit more like homer simpson,than we are like mr spock,so homer simpson might also have the,same goals as mr spock he also wants to,be,fit and healthy and rich and,but when it comes to actually exercising,and saving,he doesn't follow through on his goals,he'll choose a pizza,over apple every time because he will,make the easy,fun and unhealthy choice that will bring,him the most happiness,right now rather than long-term,benefits and psychologists actually came,up with a lot of evidence that shows,that we as people behave much more like,homer simpson,than we would like to believe and why is,that,so first of all we make an enormous,amount of decisions every day,some estimations talk about 35 000,decisions that we make every single day,and and actually that is quite demanding,so each one of these decisions,takes energy takes place in our mind,and all of this together creates quite a,load,so on some of these decisions,we make them in a very deliberate way,here we maybe act a little bit more like,mr spock,we weigh the pros and cons the costs and,the benefits,and these are big decisions like maybe,which house or car we're going to buy,but,for a lot of the other daily decisions,that we make like do we take you know,coffee or tea or what we're going to,wear in the morning,we don't have that much time to really,like do the this full analysis,and we just kind of make the decisions,on the spot,and to be able to handle them all of,these decisions and,to be able to make decisions in a short,amount of time we have found different,strategies,shortcuts in scientific language they're,called heuristics heuristics are like,rules of thumb they're basically like,little rules that we make up for,ourselves to be able to make the,decision easier,and just like any shortcuts they're,great they serve a function,they make it possible for us to make,this amount o

hi this is Manny from find Fi and today,I'm going to show you why you should,create pins for your search terms and,how so starting with why our algorithms,are based E is user behavior in order to,rank products in the way that is most,likely to convert we track user behavior,clicks at the cards purchases device,information etc to really optimize the,user experience and show consumers,products based on their trends score,look sometimes you as a merchant would,like to promote certain products you,have based on your margins based on,things you have in stock or perhaps you,have a product that you know a new,version will be released in a couple,weeks and you want to promote it,the idea behind promoting products is,that the majority of customers look at,the results on the first page because,that's what they're used to from Google,so as the result of that products that,are on the first page of the search,results will convert more and therefore,we provide you with a tool that allows,you to push certain products on to the,top of the search results regardless of,how our algorithm,besides dracula so the way to do that is,quite simple you click on solutions and,go to my search and select pinning on,the top left here you would then type,into the search box and start typing the,search query that you'd like to pin the,product for so let's take an example,from our store which is comedy this will,show me all the products that will come,up in a search query and the result of,inputting the term comedy and we'll rank,them based on the same order that,customers all see them now if we want to,promote for example this,products it is currently located based,on our algorithmic ranking on the for,date location you can simply scroll down,find it and click this button once you,click this button you'll see that it has,been pinned to the first location you,can continue doing that for example,let's take this product and drag and,drop it into this area this means that,from now on every time a customer types,in the search term comedy these two,products will appear first and only,after that the rest of the products,ranked based on the transfer once you,are done and you would like to remove,these products on the pin you simply,unpin and that's it save and publish and,you just modified the ranking of your,search terms and search results without,writing a single line of code

my name,is ashley houghton uh thank you all very,much for coming,uh today we're going to talk about how,to capitalize,on the e-commerce boom that we're kind,of all experiencing with site search and,merchandising,my name again is ashley i've been with,search spring for about six years,uh previous to that i had a pretty,extensive,uh in-person retail experience,and with search spring initially i kind,of started and built our customer,success team which we really identify,as kind of the consultants to our,retailers,and then through that i moved on to the,product team so,what i do now is i kind of help design,the product um,to best kind of help retailers like you,um,and in doing so we want to make sure,that our retailers are more successful,ultimately um getting the most out of,search bringing their entire,ecommerce experience,let's start off uh by looking at the,current state of e-commerce,so e-commerce has experienced 10 years,of growth in just 90 days,of uh shoppers have long preferred the,in,uh person experience uh but we're now,forced to shop online and so this is big,been a big win for the ecommerce world,uh 75,of us customers have tried new brands,for the first time,during cobia 19 and 60 of them plan,to keep shopping from these new brands,um so with,more customers shopping online more than,ever before the demand has certainly,increased,uh but with that demand comes a,heightened shopper expectation,and so to capitalize on this exponential,growth of 20,ecommerce growth in 2020 your store,needs to stand out from the competition,and can your store keep up with this,level of growth,and did you know by the end of 2020,customer experience will overtake price,and product as the key brand,differentiator,if you think of the option of going to,home depot or lowe's,typically you'll choose the store that,has the better product offering and,customer service,so we want to take that personal,in-person experience and translate it to,the online world,and a lot of you might ask why does it,matter and what impact does it have,us customers 65 of them find a positive,experience with a brand to be more,influential than great advertising,so again getting your brand out there is,the first step but once shoppers are at,your store,what are you doing to keep them there,and to keep them coming back,time after time so that leads us,now kind of where should we start um now,that we've walked through the e-commerce,landscape and know a bit about,uh site search and merchandising let's,walk through the steps where we can,start optimizing the site,first we kind of start by asking,ourselves what makes your store stand,out,so there's hundreds and thousands of,online stores to choose from,i mean we have mom and pop shops to,amazon and kind of everything in between,um and as i mentioned it's no longer as,simple as having the best price,it doesn't stop there any longer um they,want the customized in-person shopping,experience that's intuitive and easy,from the comfort of their living

hi everyone,welcome to boost product filter and,search tutorial video series,in this video you'll learn how to use,our merchandising features,they are product ranking and rule-based,merchandising,merchandising in the online context is,the art and science of displaying,products or offers on a website with the,goal of increasing sales,with this objective in mind we came up,with these two tools to help you,merchants optimize conversion rates,by setting up strategic triggers to,promote the right products to the right,customers automatically,product ranking and rule-based,merchandising are both effective for,search result pages only,but they are different in the way that,while product ranking is to promote one,specific product,rule-based merchandising is for a group,of products,first is product ranking with this,feature you can change the ranking of,specific products in the search result,thus to promote and increase the,visibility of particular items so here,how you can use it,first you have product title column,which includes the product list of your,online store,if you want to search for a specific,product simply query its id or title in,the top right search bar,next you got to decide how and how long,a certain product is ranked on search,results,we currently support five types of,ranking including,no ranking always prioritized matched,search,keyword search and at the bottom let's,find out how each,type is displayed on your storefront no,ranking is initially set as default for,every product,and the ranking for the settings remain,as it is no affected,always prioritized means that the,product is always pinned at the top of a,search result no matter what your,customers search for,this is to help you promote a special,product a hot seller or much required,item,a side note this is a super strong,ranking so even if you set other ranking,types while this one is still effective,the product will still be prioritized on,the top position,for example if i set autumn women shirt,item as always prioritized,on my store no matter what keywords i,search for,the top displayed result will be this,product,for match search the product will be,prioritized to the top of the search,result page,if it's in the result list you can use,this ranking setting if you want to,promote a certain product for target,searches,to illustrate i rank best black t-shirt,as matched search,so if i search for black shirt this item,will no doubt be on top line too,keyword search the product will display,at the top of search results if the,assigned keywords is searched for for,this ranking,you have to input one or many target,keywords in the box,and separate them by comma this ranking,type would help you cross promote a,certain item if you know how to use it,right,to give you an idea of how it works i'll,set black bra and panty as keyword,search,and choose the target keyword or,underwear lingerie intimate,so if i search for one of the keywords,this product will be prioritized to,display on top,a
