hi everyone welcome to the another video,of postman series so today in this video,we are going to learn about how to,integrate the postman with the slack so,in a postman we all know we can create,collections and we can create the,variables right the similar way we can,create the,aba monitoring right so where you can i,mean you can create some monitor,through the collections and you can i,mean monitor them right,so for example uh you have a such a,situations like,like a 10 to 20 apis that is running on,the production environment you want to,make sure that i mean always the api is,up and running right so you will be,checking those status on interval of,like every one or every 10 minutes right,so,to get to get the things up and running,on this right so for that we'll create a,monitor,in postman so where you can see the,monitors and you can get notified,through the image right so now another,way if you want to monitor your apis,you can you can use the same option as a,monitoring and you can get integrated,with the stack so if there any status,failure or pass you can get notified,through that,some some channels that you have,configured in the stack okay so that is,what we are going to see now,so this is a postman and this is some,sample api where i have it i mean where,i downloaded from the swagger pet store,so this is a api,okay so,so when you click on this option so in,the options you can see,yeah,so here you can see as a monitor right,so this is a monitoring option so,postman has integrated with multiple uh,i mean uh,channels like the platforms where you,can um notified i mean you can you can,share the alerts or notifications to the,these kind of uh applications right so,new like i mean uh new relic apm is,there and big founders there microsoft,teams is there and,right so you can integrate the muni i,mean all these applications so now we,are going to see about the slab right so,bring postman monitor notification to,inverse snap channel okay so when you,click on this so it will establish the,connection first okay so that will be,open in the browser,so the first thing is we have to set it,up right so the integrations uh means,like you have to confirm i mean you have,to confirm your authentications right so,that authentication will open like this,so you have to click on the continue,so when you do the first time know it,will ask you for the details of slack,and it will ask you for the what what,kind of uh i mean,channels i mean not channels so it will,ask you for the username password kind,of watery system and it will ask you for,the your workspace right so this is my,workspace,okay since i have configured it is,coming like this so now what you have to,know you have to select particular,channel that you want okay so now this,is mine okay so,let me refresh,i'm not getting the chance here,okay so now we can see this is my,workspace right so surveillance,universal slack source this is the,workspace where i have integrated,so this is content about you um,

hello everyone uh in this video i'm,going to be showing you how to send uh,slack notifications or slack messages,from your node.js web app so for an,example i have like a sample form where,you can just fill out and then it sends,you a slack notification on your node.js,web app,so first of all i just wanted to say on,a personal note i'm really sorry for,like not uploading recently i've just,been busy like working on a couple of,side projects uh,so yeah speaking about slack i think,slack is like really easy to use even if,you're using it alone for your side,projects i think like you should,probably go go for it as you can use it,for like a lot of a lot of like a lot of,use cases for example like support,messages or contact forms and etc so,yeah slack apis is really easy to use as,well so,i can go read the docs it's like really,really comprehensive and i really like,reading it,so yeah pretty straight forward so,so the only thing you need from slack,side is just a workspace as i told you,earlier it's it's free to use and you,can check it out,so first of all i'll just try to quickly,explain like what's going on and like,how we're sending messages to slack so,basically we have a form in the front,end the form sends a post request to the,web server with all the input data in it,after we get the input data in the back,end we then use axios to send another,post request to slack api so,we're using webhooks here to get all the,data into the slack headquarters so that,they can automatically send a message to,our slack workspace particularly in a in,a single channel so yeah that's how it,works,so yeah let's just first create an app,on slack so you can go to create an app,and hit it just opens a model here where,you can select the name,youtube app,youtube,app i guess so and then you can select a,workspace,so yeah this is what like the basic info,of like the of the bot of the what of,the app is and here are some credentials,i'm probably just gonna blur most of it,out,and here is where you can like set all,the display information like the name,description and change the background,color i'm just gonna leave it like that,as we're just testing it out and what,you need what you need to go into is,basically go to the incoming web hooks,and,you're just gonna need to check it out,so that it's gonna it's gonna be on,and then,you can hit add new web hook to,workspace but before that we need a,channel on on what should i say on the,slack on the slack workspace so that you,can actually like get messages in that,particular channel if that makes sense,so i'm just gonna hit,contact,channel i guess so this is just for like,testing it out so that works so i can,just say it contact channel contact,channel so we can just go and hit let's,just reload it so that it updates it,so yeah let's just should add new,webhook to workspace,and then youtube and like you can just,select,contact that's channel and then allow so,basically we're just giving it,permission to,uh to post and like t
