it's your boy Oden from host dot promo,in today's video we are gonna be,reviewing count ly and I'm gonna tell,you the few reasons why it sucks and I'm,gonna tell you everything that they,don't tell you on the website okay I,have been personally using it for a,while on my site post-op promo which,helps you find the best web host and,promotions and I do like a few things,about it compared to a lot of the other,analytics platforms one is that a lot of,things update live and everything seems,like it's using new technology and,everything seems pretty modern and,pretty slick okay however there's a few,things that aren't good about it the,first thing that is not good is how it,records visitors so for example if you,go down here you can see the latest,visitors and we can see this person from,Arlington Heights they went to this page,however if they start going to other,pages it only records the last page they,went to here so you can't see what that,user did during that session okay,because their big thing is their,enterprise and so the most important,thing one of the most important things,being able to track your users and what,pages they go on go on that is not even,included in the free version and if,you've used peat week which is now known,as Matt Tomo I use this on some of my,other websites they do track user,profiles okay so if countly did track,user profiles it would be pretty good,however they don't do that in their free,version and that really sucks and they,don't put even how much their plan is,okay they tailor it towards enterprises,so if you're a small start-up or a new,website then yak only is really not that,great for you if you're a big enterprise,and can foot the bill then it's a pretty,sweet platform okay now a few other,things I did not like about countly was,this is pretty cool so you can basic,do feedback widgets on your website and,you can come here get the code put it on,your website like how are we doing did,you like this page and your users can,vote however when I tried to add the,feedback widget there was all these,jQuery errors and was messing up my site,okay so and it wasn't an issue with my,code it was an issue with their code,okay so that was broken the other thing,that really is not good about countly is,that their app they advertise that they,have a mobile app and blah blah blah but,the mobile app absolutely sucks okay you,can download it yourself and see for,yourself it doesn't even work it has,like the real-time viewer in real time,and it just doesn't even work and then,there is a few cool things about count,ly one of them is the airs so within one,line of code you can be tracking all,these different errors and you can see,what devices they're happening on the,most how many percentage of visitors are,affected and they also have an events so,you can track events and you can track,events in the free version which is cool,you do need to code the events yourself,however you can track every single click,automatically through one

thank you very much Jonathan where you,guys can hear me okay and I apologize in,advance my voice is hoarse have been,talking all day and we'll see how it,goes so let's reduce myself real quick,I'm Rob rang again I'm an architect here,at infusion and I work in a mobile,subject matter kind of role here so all,things mobile all the time i can be,reached at many different ways and,please feel free to reach out to me at,any point if anyone would like to i'm,more than happy to to have any sort of,dialogue you guys want so this is this,is me and I've been with infusion for,about six years actually but seven years,and you know thank you guys for coming,up here so thank you to mobile learning,lab for for having me i really,appreciate the opportunity and thank you,too Nancy Monica for getting this all,set up on our side here I'm actually a,bit of a stranger to the infusion,Toronto office sort of a stranger I come,up here fairly often and this is this,office is new to me too so I appreciate,it so let's talk about mobile analytics,and user engagement what I want to do is,basically you know boil everything that,I'm going to talk about tonight down to,two questions one how do your users,interact with your app how do you find,out how your users interact with your,app and two how do you keep your users,coming back and how do you keep them how,do you keep them engaged and these are,easy questions to ask really easy,questions asked and I think they're a,lot harder to answer and for a long time,the way that we answered them was,something along these lines and tell me,if this sounds familiar we've got a got,a three-month project and we're going to,plan a half a day towards the end of it,and we're going to scramble to integrate,google analytics and we'll try and get,as many messages in there as we can and,we'll see how it goes that doesn't work,so well I've seen you know there's,really usually two different outcomes to,it one either forget and you run out of,time and you end up going blind into,production you don't really don't have,any sort of analytics,I'm out there and that's not a great,solution or not a great situation to be,in or to you end up in a situation where,you get all this data that comes out of,out of the service that you've,integrated and it's not really all that,insightful or really useful and that's,that's really kind of a shame because,and this is what I hope to kind of,convince you guys up tonight if you're a,little bit more deliberate and strategic,in the way that you actually approach,analytics in mobile apps you're going to,give far better results far more,valuable information that you can bring,back and incorporate into your product,and I found that by you know asking,these questions you know for pretty much,every feature I'm designing or in,building it becomes a lot easier to be,more deliberate about this yeah so,here's what we'll talk through tonight I,want to get into some some of the latest,trends if all you've seen lately is,Google Analyt
