welcome to the lair of our collections,guide in this series we take a look at,each of the available methods in the,laravel collection class and dive deep,through examples in explaining what it,does today we're gonna be looking at,filter as the name would suggest filter,will help you filter a collection so let,me show you a couple of examples,starting from the very basic stuff let's,create a collection will use collect and,put an array and let's start with four,simple numbers one two three and four,and then we're gonna call the filter,method on we're not gonna pass in any,parameters and let's see the results,so obviously nothing is being filtered,what what about this what if we added an,empty string let's see what happens then,filter is eliminating that empty string,let me prove it to you,I'm gonna get rid of filter and sure,enough we have this empty string right,here but if we go back and say filter,and we don't pass in any parameters that,gets deleted what else can we filter out,how about a zero yep that gets deleted,how about null yep that gets to need it,as well,false same thing and finally just an,empty array of any sort also gets,filtered so that's already a very useful,method that you can use if you just need,to clean a collection of any faulty,values you can call filter on it without,passing in any parameters now if you,need a little bit more flexibility with,filter then you can pass in a closure so,we'll do that now we'll say function,value inside this closure you will,receive each of the values in your,collection and then you need to return,either true or false if you want that to,be included in the collection so let's,start with a very simple example and,simply return false so we return false,we get a completely empty collection and,that makes sense same thing if we return,true right so every item gets returned,true and we just get our collection back,all right what if we wanted only the,even numbers well in that case we could,say something like value mod two equals,zero and that will give you even numbers,so two and four same thing if you wanted,odd numbers of course you could say,remain,one in which case you get one and three,what about the keys if you need access,to the keys in the collection as a,second argument to your closure you can,pass in a second variable we'll say key,and let's do an example with key if the,key is greater than two then sure enough,we get that so filtering is very,powerful but really simple to use,again all you need to do is return true,or false if you need that particular,item to be included in the collection,now last thing to note about filter is,that it does return a brand new,collection so let's just say if we had,collection equals collect and then we,called filter and collection and then,finally returned collection then you,obviously get your original collection,back filter does not affect the original,collection if you need it to save that,you could say new collection equals that,and then instead of retu

is it a man o meter or a manometer,that's been keeping you up at night - or,if you just want some ideas on how to,improve your dust collection and you're,going to like this episode of the stumpy,Dubbs workshop,first of all let's clear things up a man,o meter is that thing I got off the,internet that's supposed to tell me that,I'm really manly it hurts a little bit a,manometer is one of those fancy doodads,that measures pressure and that's almost,as interesting because it can tell us,when a dust collector is not running at,its peak performance I guarantee you've,used a manometer before you just didn't,know it because you thought you're using,a sphygmomanometer mm all right I make,that mistake all the time that's that,thing on the wall at the doctor's office,that they use to measure your blood,pressure my doctor still does it the,old-fashioned way with needles and a,wooden ruler but I hear there have been,some real improvements in blood pressure,measuring over the years and that,particular style that they use now is of,interest to us because it uses liquid to,measure pressure the principle is simple,you put some liquid in a tube and as the,pressure increases on one end it moves,the liquid by measuring the change in,the levels of the liquid you can,determine how much pressure is being,exerted upon and where you find the most,pressure in your workshop besides your,wife pressuring you to make your new,cabinets your dust collect we usually,think of our dust collectors as sucking,but they don't call that spinny part,inside a sucker they call it a blower I,don't really know who they are but in,this case they are right the motor spins,the impeller which pushes air into your,filters and that air has to come from,somewhere so it pulls it from your,woodworking machines the more air your,blower pushes into your filters the,better your suction at the machine so of,all the parts of the dust collection,system the ducts the hoses the blast,gates the machine hookups all of them,are pointless if you don't have peak air,flow now you might remember we did a,series of videos a while back that,talked about impellers and motors and,what size you needed to generate the,most airflow for your system but the,fact is you can have the biggest blower,on earth and it,will matter if there's nowhere for that,air to go you see the bottleneck and,most dust collectors is the filter it,can only allow so much air to pass,through it and less air going out,through your filter the less air that's,coming in from your machine hookups so,let's take a minute to talk about,filters and then we'll see how to build,one of those manometers filters come,with different ratings some are rated in,microns some have a Merv number some,don't have anything on them at all it's,very confusing but here's what you need,to know the bag style filters are junk,they're catching chips but they're,letting all the fine dust out older bags,can let stuff as big as 30 microns,escape in the last five years or so some,d

How and where to use Collection Filter in Flow with example

hello and welcome and thank you for,joining me today we're going to talk,about filter element in flow i think,this is fairly new so it came out two or,three releases before and i want to talk,about the use case on when to use filter,element as well as what are some of the,nuances with the filter element so let's,jump right in so here my use case today,is um,let's say you had to query and for query,inside of flow you will always use get,records that's like the query for any,records that you're trying to get so for,example if you use cases you wanted to,get a list of opportunities you can do,that using get records element then um,somewhere down the flow you want to get,all the closed one opportunities let's,say,if there was not a filter you would have,to query,all the closed one opportunities by,using getelement again which means that,will be additional query in the database,and then let's say down the line again,inside the same flow you have to query,all the close lost opportunities which,means you are again going to use get,element and then where stage name is,closed lost so as you can see you,already are down to three queries but,you can actually shorten that or you can,reduce the number of queries by using,filter element so what filter element,does is you can first just query all the,opportunities and i would still,recommend uh using aware,inside your first query to just filter,out anything that's not needed maybe a,high level where here in this case but,then afterwards if you want to like,filter it more specific like stage name,basis maybe you want to filter in all,stages and do certain things for example,you want to query all the close one,opportunities and maybe send an email to,those owners of those opportunities or,maybe anything that's on pipeline you,want to remind someone or create tasks,for those opportunities in pipeline so,in that case you can just query all the,opportunities of that record types and,then filter,through that filter element and keep,going and you know do your processes,inside the flow so that would be a,really good use case to use the filter,now let's look at the flow,there is a flow already built out but i,wanted to show you step by step so i'm,going to actually go to setup and,start from scratch and i'm going to say,new flow,and in this case just to keep things,simple i'm just going to use a screen,flow because i'm not actually going to,do anything i just wanted to show you,the filter element,so just starting out with all the,opportunities here so i'm just going to,say,first you really don't want to use,collection filter at the beginning,because that's actually filtering the,list that you already have so the first,thing i want to do is get records,so i'm just going to say get ops,i'll get all opportunities here,and since it's a dev org i don't have,many records i'm just going to say give,me all the opportunities,i don't recommend doing this,for a real org especially if you have a,lot of data,all records here and i'm

Laravel Collections: 5 Methods with Real Examples

Laravel Foreach to Collections: Flatten, Filter, Unit Test

hello guys today i want to make a video,around a tweet that i retweeted about,laravel collections and how to make some,piece of code shorter and how to even,test it so this is the tweet by austin,cameron which transformed this sentence,this for each loop for each if and else,into one method of collect it's not one,method actually it's a chain of methods,but it's a one-liner and my retweet got,really popular with 130 likes and a lot,of things that were commented and i want,to dig a bit deeper and debug it so,first what was the original value of the,filters what does that all mean and how,these features in collections make it,shorter what is flatten what is filter,how does it work let's take a look at,the code so this is the code that i have,recreated in home controller and i tried,to guess what were the initial values,and this is what i came up with so,basically for each of the filters first,we're checking if it's array or not,which means it could be an array or it,could be a value string or true false,then if it is an array then for each of,the options if it's not false then we,increase the count which means that it's,true or false,then if it's not the array then if it's,not false then we count that as true so,this is true this is true this is true,but this is false and then there's the,second way for now comment it out and,let's first see what is the value of,these parameters and in home blade i,just show the count so the result of,that is count four which means,six elements,this is filtered out and this one is,filtered out all of the others become,true which means four enabled or,activated filters so that's the initial,set of data and that's how it should,work now let's try to shorten it with,collections and let's see what each of,those methods actually do first let's,just blindly uncomment it and lodge and,see if it gets the same result refresh,count four so the result is the same and,how does that happen let's dump to the,screen the temporary variables so,collect filters will be variable number,one so dump collect filters,then,dump collect filters,flatten,and what is flatten i will tell in a,minute and then dump collect filters,flatten,filter and the count will know the value,it is for so what are the values of,collect flatten and filter we're refresh,and this is the result the result is,collection of items like this so all,collect does is transforming the array,into laravel collection which means that,we can use collection methods on that,nothing more than that then the second,flatten transforms that collection by,removing the second level arrays so c,some filter true here some filter falls,and flatten just returns true and false,for those elements of the collection,everything else stays the same but just,those two are flat and into the same,array if we take a look at the official,documentation of flatten here's the,example it transforms the,multi-dimensional collection into single,dimension like in this case we have,value of taylor and then

How to Add Product Filter on Shopify | Filters on Collection Page | Shopify Theme Tutorial DIY

here is a simple method to add product,filters to your shopify store,log in to the shopify dashboard,we are splitting this into two parts,first you need to add products with,filters and then customize the product,filters on the collection page,to begin click products from the left,side of the dashboard,you can see the list of all products you,have already added,click add product from the top right,corner,start adding the product information and,provide all the related information,about the product,fill up all the columns like price media,description title quantity and all other,information,below the shipping section you will find,an options section,tick the box in that section and it,expands a column to fill up the filter,options,by default on the options name the size,color material and style are provided,you can pick from the option or provide,an individual filter based on a product,also fill up the option values,now multiple variants are automatically,created based on the type of filters you,provided,include the price and quantity of each,variant and complete,do a quick check if all the areas are,filled,as of now you don't need to add anything,to the meta fields,click the save button from the bottom,right corner,the product is successfully added and,made active,click the back arrow to reach the,product area,to look out for the product you have,added click an ice symbol near it to,preview the product,you can see that the product is included,with all the filters,now we move on to the second step from,the dashboard click the online store on,the left side followed by navigation,you will find filters on the bottom,by default no filters will be added and,click add filters to start adding them,choose all the filters from products and,needed filters from product options then,click done and save it,then select the themes under the online,store and click customize on the current,theme,on the customizer by default it will be,on the home page,select the home page at the top center,then it opens up the drop-down menu,from the drop-down menu select the,collections and pick the default,template or any template you want to,apply filters,now you can view the collection pages,with all the filters,here on this collection page the filters,are hidden,if it is hidden on your site then,navigate to the left sidebar click the i,symbol to make it visible,now you can view that all the filters we,provided initially are now available,here,you can also hide the other blocks in,this section,sometimes based on the theme you are,using the list of functionalities and,filter area could differ,now you can scroll and see all the,filters on the collection page,if you want to remove any particular,filter from this collection page then,click the exit button from the left top,corner and open it in a new tab select,the navigation menu under the online,store on the left side,for example i'm going to remove the,price filter,on the filter remove the filters you,don't want to show on the

TESTING COLLECTION FILTER FINISH (CHARLOTTE TILBURY DUPE?!)

i use it under my makeup every single,day on top,i would never think of putting it on top,of my foundation this is,a fraction of the price,so i saw an ad on instagram for,something called collection filter,finish and it really really reminded me,of this the charlotte tilbury flawless,filter i decided to go out and buy it,because i thought this looks very,similar to the charlotte tilbury one,let's see if it is similar to it so in,today's video i am going to be testing,both and testing this collection one in,a bit more depth and comparing them both,to see if we have a strong dupe on our,hands so,here are the two products that we're,going to be trying today we've got the,charlotte tilbury hollywood flawless,filter and the collection gorgeous glow,filter finish so i'm going to do a,little bit of a swatch on my hand before,i test them so we can see like color and,how they blend out i just want to,mention i got both of these in the shade,one fair they're both called one fair so,here are the swatches so the one closest,this one here is the collection one and,that one is,the charlotte tilbury one they look,almost identical in color the only thing,i would say is,i don't know but one like it depends how,it catches the light this one,looks a tiny bit darker the charlotte,tilbu one looks probably the smidge bit,darker and the collection wants that a,little bit fairer look you can see now,but realistically there's not much,difference in it at all so that's been,both blended out you can see they both,give that like really really nice like,sheer subtle glow and that's what i love,about the charlotte tilbury one i use it,under my makeup every single day because,it really gives you that really nice,like glowy healthy glow look and i love,that about it they look,virtually the same and they give the,same effect so that's why i thought i'm,gonna try this collection one because if,this is a good tube this is,a fraction of the price of the charlotte,till we won without any further ado,let's get into the testing part of this,video,okay so i've just washed my face done my,moisturize on my skincare and stuff and,i'm ready to start my makeup so,obviously this kind of acts as like a,glowy sort of primer you can just wear,it on its own like there's no makeup,days but i am going to do a little bit,of makeup today i'm going to start with,this in place of a primer so do i have,the box with the charlotte tilbury one,let's see i do have the box for the,charlotte tilbury one i just kind of,want to compare what they both say the,charlotte tilbury one does come in a box,the collection one just comes like this,on its own um the charlotte tilbury one,says the future has arrived hollywood,flawless filter a magical new flawless,filter for perfect looking skin enriched,with,lamp,lamella,villa i don't know don't ask me but on,the screen um which acts like a,digitally enhanced filter for your skin,it soft focuses perfects and illuminates,for a dewy flawless superstar youth glow,for a supe

33 - Collection filter with Ajax (Fetch) and Alpine.js
