How To Make A Store Locator (And Embed It On Your Website)

today i'm going to walk you step by step,through creating a,store locator i'm going to show you how,i built one for,burgers priest a delicious toronto,takeout spot for burgers,i'll show you how i used their brand,colors their logo,and how i embedded the store locator on,a website,to do this we're going to use a free,tool called atlist,i co-created atlas with my friend carl,it's for creating custom google maps and,you can find a link to atlas,in the video description below alright,let's do this,so we'll start an atlas and we'll create,a new map,let's call this map burger priest,locations,and then let's add our first location,we'll name it blue or west,and we'll drop some of the location,information into the notes section,then let's format it nicely click away,and we'll see how it looks nice,let's also add an image of the,storefront all right,looking good so we need to add more,burger priest locations but instead of,adding each individually we're just,going to bulk,upload them by csv spreadsheet,so import csv choose the csv,and we'll say yes this includes a header,row,and there we go all the locations have,been added,unfortunately the csv doesn't include,images so i'll need to add,images to each location individually,now we could put our locations into,groups uh for example,different areas of toronto but i don't,really think that's necessary when,there's just 10 locations,so for this tutorial we're not going to,do that,let's start by styling the map we'll,begin by choosing a map theme,there are a couple different themes,built in that we could choose from,but you can also import custom map,styles,um which is cool so let's do that let's,open,snazzymaps.com which has tons of,different map styles,i think this one right here is cool so,let's choose it,now all we have to do is copy this code,and paste it in atlas here,and now we have this cool custom map,style,so i kind of want to bring in some of,the brand colors so,let's customize the markers and let's,use the burger priest yellow for the,marker color,and we can choose between a few shapes,for the marker but i kind of like,circles let's go with that,we can turn the border off we can change,the marker size,and there's some preset icons we can,choose from,but we're actually just going to add a,custom icon which is the burger priest,logo,so the map and the markers are looking,good but the modal window is a bit,uninspired,so let's style that we'll up the shadow,and let's up the roundness to match the,circle,and one thing i didn't mention is you,can change the position of the modal but,we're just gonna stick with above for,now,let's increase the weight and the size,of the title,let's give the address the yellow to,match our brand,and we'll reduce the size,and let's make the note a little bit,darker,and bring down the size a bit yeah i,like this a bit better,now i'd like the user to be able to see,their current location,so let's go to controls and turn on,current location,users can click this button to revea

How to Setup the Store Locator Import File for Your WeSupply Account?

welcome back to we supply,in this video we'll walk through the,process of adding multiple locations,to your store locator page,once you're logged in head over to,settings,click stores and we'll get started by,downloading the csv,file,once it's downloaded open it up and,let's take a look at the fields we have,to complete,client key can be any non-repeating,number,and serves to identify a store location,if your stores are numbered internally,this could be an easy way to pick,numbers to assign as client keys,just remember the only requirement is,that every client key,must be unique from one another,in column b you'll add the store's name,if each store doesn't have an individual,name you can feel free to repeat,during this section,add each store's specific address in,columns,c through h when you get to column,h be sure to use your country's alpha,2 code as an example the united states,would be,us while germany would be d,e,for a convenient link to a full list,please visit our store locator,documentation,keep it simple for customers by letting,them know which stores accept returns,put yes in column i if a customer can,walk into that location,with a return and handle everything on,the spot,if they can't simply put no,default shipping location is for your,main shipping warehouse,even if you ship from several locations,we recommend picking the one with the,highest volume,or one that is the most centrally,located for your customers,selecting the default shipping location,is important because it serves as the,origin point when calculating estimated,delivery time,for customers default return location,works in a similar way,even if you have several warehouses that,process returns,pick either the highest volume or most,centrally located one,the default return location is going to,be the address that all return labels,will direct your packages back to,by filling out phone and email you make,it easier for customers to contact your,individual store locations,store phone numbers can be stylized with,or without dashes in parentheses,depending on your personal preference,adding each store's schedule will save,your customers from making any pointless,trips,especially when different locations open,and close,at different times just enter the hours,of operation within each day,and we'll handle the rest,the about info and about image sections,are optional but offer a great,opportunity to let each store's unique,personality,shine through on the profile page,showcase,cool imagery along with details about,upcoming events,or just fun facts about the store,don't forget to add links to your,facebook,instagram and yelp accounts,this gives customers easy access through,quick links on the store profile page,bonus points if each location has their,own social account,simply add the information into the csv,file,and each profile page link will take the,customer to the specific,account for that store,once you're all done editing and saving,the csv file,go back to the settings screen

How to Add a Store Locator to Your Maps Using the TomTom Maps APIs

Hey, everyone! Today we're going to follow a tutorial,on how to create your own store locator for your business,And we're going to do it using the TomTom Maps APIs. Let's take a look,At the end of this tutorial you can select the store or the city,and see where it is located in the map,Alternatively you can select the store in the map and see the details in the left panel,Ok, before we start we need 3 things first: an API key from the TomTom developer portal,,a list of your store locations and then convert that list,into a JSON format so we can display them on a map,And after that we go over with,how to display the map, add the markers, add and organize the stores,We add some interactivity and use the jQuery Accordion widget,As usual getting the API key is very easy visit us at developer.tomtom.com,and after registration (no credit card needed),go to your dashboard where you can find your newly created API key,I assume you already have a list of your store locations,In this example we'll take them from our tutorial in github,In this sample we have a list from 2 cities and the file is already in GeoJSON format,Take a look at the description down below,Interesting point now is that some,companies have been adding to the map some closeby attractions or points of interest,In this way is easier for the user to locate a store physically,In order to do this we use the TomTom Search API,To be exact we want to search for POI (point of interest) depending on your industry,For example if you are mapping shoe stores and they are on a pedestrian only area,we can add markers with parks or touristic attractions around them to help guide your customer,Take a look at the documentation link and the description for more information,Let's start by initializing the map.
