hello and welcome to the point from nav,attend in this screencast we'll look at,making address labels with mail merge,let's get started first create a list of,addresses in an Excel spreadsheet make,sure that the columns are clearly,labeled with first name last name,address city state and zip headings to,start the mail merge open a blank,document in Microsoft Word and select,the mailings heading then click start,mail merge labels in the dialog box that,opens choose your label vendor of choice,and a product number then click OK,Microsoft Word will format the labels,automatically to import the addresses,onto the labels click select recipients,use existing list select the Excel,spreadsheet you created earlier and,click open in the dialog box that opens,select the correct sheet click OK while,the cursor is in the first empty label,click insert merge field and insert the,necessary fields make sure that there,are spaces commas and line breaks,between the merge fields when necessary,also apply any desired formatting at,this time,to apply these merge fields and the,formatting across the entire sheet click,update labels the page may look a little,messy but it should be fine,click preview results to make sure that,the addresses in the spreadsheet were,imported correctly click finish and,merge edit individual documents then,select all and click OK the new document,that opens labels 1 is the document you,will actually print onto the label sheet,labels 1 maintains the formatting of the,previous document but does not allow you,to change the mail merge settings when,saving the original document name it,something like address label template so,you can use it again however remember to,select recipients again the next time,you use it if you have updated your,Excel address sheet if you have an,unanswered technical question that you,would like to see appear in an upcoming,issue of the point feel free to email it,to social I have attend com with that we,reach the conclusion of the screencast,you can watch previous issues or,subscribe to receive the point via email,on our website the link is below have a,great week

I'm going to show you how to create,labels from a list that you have in,Excel the first thing we need to do is,we need to open up a Word file so here,we have our word file and then we're,going to go to the mailings tab on the,word document and we are going to start,mail merge and we will select labels,okay and then it comes up with a dialog,box asking you for the type of labels,that you're going to select and let's,select these ones that we already have,you'll you'll be able to find your your,labels by they go by brand and then they,hand go with a number that's printed on,the bottom so let's just select these,ones that we have and they'll say okay,and so now you have your labels so what,we're going to do is we're going to go,then go and select select recipients and,we're going to use an existing list and,what we're going to do is we are going,to select our list from our documents,and our labels are our names are on,sheet one so let's we have that one,selected so let's go okay okay so now,what you're going to do is you are going,to insert merge field and so now the,first thing that I want to have on my,label is I'd like to have the first name,so let's go first name and then go,insert and now let's go close you need,to put a space in between your first,name and your last name because you if,you insert them directly they will be,right on top of each other so let's go,now let's go insert merge field again,and let's select last name we'll go,insert and then we'll go close again and,once again you need to press ENTER and,you're going to go insert merge field,and you're gonna select a dress and then,you're going to go insert and then,you're gonna go close and you're gonna,go enter and insert merge field and,you're gonna select City so let's say,that that's all we needed on our labels,so we're happy with that so what we're,going to do is update labels and now,it's going to copy the same format onto,all of your labels now what I would I,suggest you do just for the fact that,you can fix anything that's not right is,we're gonna go finish and merge and,you're gonna drop down the list arrow,here and you are going to edit,individual documents and it's gonna let,you suggest how many you want you want,to do so I'd say you go thirty at a time,because 30 is the number that normally,fit rips that normally fit on a page so,I'm going to go one two thirty it'll go,okay so there you have your labels,completed for you and all you need to do,is print them out now if you want to go,and do the ones after that you would,just click that again you would click,this and go for example thirty to sixty,and you keep doing that so that's how,you create labels from Excel an excel,list please subscribe

hey this is Ralph and in this video I,want to create some return address,labels so I had this question come up,the other day basically if I just want,to create a sheet of return address,labels so basically it's gonna be a,sheet of the very same label that I,could put in the top left corner of an,envelope or something like that so I,always have my return address available,so I'm gonna start from a blank Word,document here I'm gonna be on the,mailings tab but instead of worrying,about the mail merge process I'm gonna,head over to the labels process and for,the address this is where I would put in,my own address I'll go ahead and put in,a personable person and I'll put in a,fake address and now you do need to know,what labels you want now I picked I have,got 81 67 selected for me just because,before it turned on the recorder I did a,little bit of hunting over at Amazon,they're just looking for some return,address labels and that's kind of what,they've got going on here you can see,there in the top left corner that's what,ultimately we're creating basically and,this is avery code 8167 so when you're,producing your labels in word you want,to know what that Avery code is it's,right there on the corner of the package,that you might get to and there's dozens,hundreds of different kinds of label,styles so you need to know what the,label code number is for whatever labels,you are using so I'm gonna head back,over to my word document never already,got 8167 selected but if I wasn't there,I would just click over here on this,label option and I could just scroll,through and find what I was looking for,and if I was somewhere way off when,you're activated inside of this little,dialog box you can just start to type,out eight one six and that didn't seem,to find it so let me just hit eight,again eight one and eight one six theory,starts to find it as you type in the,keys and then I could easily find eight,one six seven shipping layer address,labels right there so I'll go ahead and,click on that click OK that's what I've,got and now I'm ready to produce a new,document I,we go right to print I always want to,look at the new document before printing,so I'm gonna click new document and I'm,gonna get this big list of addresses now,I can see that my font is just too big,for this space so I'm gonna go ahead and,select everything just by clicking the,little table selector button in the top,left corner and that's what it is this,is by the way it's just a table to,organize the arrangement of the labels,so now that I've got that selected I can,just reduce the font size a bit so that,they all fit on those particular labels,now once I've got this arranged I still,wouldn't print on my label sheet yet,what I would do is I would print one,page just on a regular sheet of paper on,the same printer that ultimately I'm,gonna use and I would hold this up to my,label sheet to make sure everything is,lined up nice and neat because you don't,to waste the the more expensive label,sheets o

Consulting in Portland Maine today I'm,going to teach you how to use word to,create a whole sheet of labels normally,when you open word you're here in the,Home tab you see the bowl the italics,all of the things you're used to seeing,word but what we're going to do is,create a sheet of labels I may need,these to have the same address label so,I can stick it on an envelope once a,month and send it off to somebody I may,need it because I want to create a,product label for what I sometimes use,it for is if I make strawberry jam at,home I want a strawberry jam label to,put on each one of my jars there are,lots of reasons for doing it up here in,your tab you're just going to click on,mailings and then here the create,section of the ribbon click labels,here's the envelopes and labels box that,comes up I'm going to just type what I,want to be in there Oh James Smith 111,moody laying Portland Maine how about,that I'm sure that place doesn't exist,now I know I want a full page of the,same label in this particular situation,but notice that if you only wanted a,single label you could actually reuse,your sheets of label and simply tell the,program which row and column to begin on,this is my label in this section on the,right I am using the Avery US letter,that's the Avery brand we are all very,familiar with number 51 60 which is a,common address label but if you click on,here notice that you can choose any,manufacturer you like and you can also,choose any different label that they put,out so while I'm using the 5160 you,might be using a shipping label you,might be using a hello my name is label,there are lots of different labels,available on the market and they can be,a lot of fun to use look I got the wrong,and people back in again make sure I get,the 5160 for this particular one there,is and click okay all right now I don't,want to just print it now there's,nothing to print I want to actually,create a document so that I can make,this label look the way I want it to be,so I'm going to click new document and,proof there they are now what if I want,to change the font of these labels,notice that word has put these labels,into a table so if i click up here in,this little hashtag up there they all,get selected and the table tools shows,up at the top here a design menu our,layout menu if I click in design I can,change all kinds of things about these,labels here but those aren't going to,really show I can even give them shading,for example I might want them to be blue,or pink or green that might be kind of,interesting if I go on the layout label,here I can take all of these which you,notice are in the upper right hand,corner and I could Center them from the,label just by clicking the center align,Center in the alignment section I'm,going to go back to the Home tab and now,I'm going to change the font so maybe I,you see how I go through and it keeps on,changing oh that one look kind of nice,I'm going to click on the Berlin signs,because it looks really cool now all

hi and thank you for watching my youtube,video today we are going to discuss how,to print mailing labels or address,labels and we're going to be using the,Avery 5160 or the 80 160 so what I did,is I created a spreadsheet here with,columns ABCDE,which have the column header the name,address city state and zip and I put,some fake names in here let's start by,saving this and I save it to the desktop,as a file called address,alright I'll hit save and I'm gonna go,ahead and close this now I'm gonna go,and open a word document a new document,and in this case we're using Microsoft,Office 2016 so the first thing we're,gonna do is really go to mailings here,you can see this tab alright then we,want to go to start mail merge and we,can select labels and this is a label,feature where you can actually look up,product numbers and your vendor so in,this case we're using the Avery US,letter and the compatible one is a 5160,address label and we're gonna hit ok so,now it's set up for that next thing,we're gonna do is we want to take the,data from the excel spreadsheet we've,created and we want to import that so we,go to select recipients we want to use,existing list all right we're gonna,locate that list and we saved it on the,desktop and we'll select address hit,open and now it's gonna ask us to select,a table and there's only one table in,there and check off that the first row,of data contains column headers because,remember we had column a1 was the name,and then the column two was address so,let's hit OK and now you see the first,record here in the following records the,next step is to insert the merge fields,which is going to be the information,such as the name the address the city,state and zip and you have to think of,it as the names on the first line the,second lines your address and the third,line is your city state and zip so we,want to insert name and hit enter again,insert merge field address enter insert,merge field city let's give a space and,then state and give a space and then zip,now we entered this data into the first,one but we want to update all labels so,let's hit update the labels and what you,see is the fields that you put into the,first one here are now in the rest of,them now we want to preview the results,so if we preview the results we can see,that now all those address labels are in,the template here that's ready to print,and since we only have one page so now,let's go to finish and merge and we want,to edit individual documents and merge,records all and from here we can then go,ahead and put our label paper or the,mailing labels into the printer and,simply choose our printer and print and,this will print out your labels which,then you could remove and be done any,questions let me know again this is,creating mounting labels Avery five one,six zero or the eighty one sixty,compatible ones using Microsoft Office,2016

for this section i will be covering the,process for using microsoft word to,create return address labels,so when,we are working with this process you can,see that i already have a word open and,typically when you open word you are,going to be on the home tab so in order,to start this process i am going to,click to access the mailings tab,and then from here i will click,where it says labels,when this dialog box opens i will leave,the spot for address empty,you could type in your return address,here,however for this demonstration we are,creating labels with an image,so what i am going to do here is i am,going to,verify that the correct label,is being used so,this is set up to use an avery brand,label with the number 5160 which is,pretty typical for address labels if,that is not correct you can click this,sample label and now you can go in and,you can select the brand and the number,of label you are using mine happens to,be correct so i'm going to cancel,once this is correct you can leave,everything else as it is and click new,document,so now that i have gone to this new,document you will see what appears to be,a table it is in fact a table,and these are grid lines the grid lines,that you see,on my screen will not print,however they give you some guidance for,the structure of your label page,if you like those labels you can,continue to work i'm sorry if you like,those grid lines you can continue to,work however if you do not,if you find that they clutter your,screen you can,on the tabs at the top because we are,working,in a table you will see these two,they're called contextual tabs they only,appear when you're working in a table so,you can click the layout tab,and then from here,over in the left corner you can click,view grid lines and they disappear you,are still working in a table if you look,at your ruler you will see that you are,still in a table,however,those grid lines are no longer on your,screen,conversely if,you don't have those grid lines and you,want them same process you would go to,the layout tab and click view grid lines,and they appear it's a toggle button so,each time you click it they either,appear or disappear depending on the,current situation,so what you are going to do now,is in the very first box that appears,you are going to create the label that,you want so if you are looking to import,a picture,or to use that logo,you will go,to insert,pictures and then you will go to where,you have that image saved,if it's,an online picture that you're pulling,off the internet you could do that and,then search for it however if it's a,logo that your company is using or you,personally are using you will go to this,device,and then you will go to the location,where the label is saved or i'm sorry,the image is saved mine happens to be in,documents,you will see here i have technology logo,i will click it and then click insert,so once it appears in the label i can,resize it,so that it appears as i want it to be i,can move it wherever i want,if y

okay this tutorials gonna be a little,bit different than most of my tutorials,this one's gonna be on LibreOffice I,don't think I've ever done toriel and,office software before I don't use it,too much myself but with the Christmas,season coming up I guess the Christmas,season is here a lot people are gonna be,wanting sending out letters and they may,have an address list in some sort of,spreadsheet that they may want to be,able to print to labels so here I just,made a quick little spreadsheet made up,some names and addresses,first things first obviously save this I,save this and before we continue we're,gonna have to convert this into a,database so what we're going to do we're,on click here we're going to insert a,row and you can label these probably,best because in the database this top,row is going to be what each column is,so we got name address able to say the,city and the civic here really its city,state visit but doesn't really matter,that's just for your reference once,again save that then click file new and,database then we're going to choose,connect to an existing database and,we're gonna choose spreadsheet click,Next and then we got choose our,spreadsheet so come in here and go to,wherever you have your spreadsheet that,you just created save mine's an ODS,format but Excel spreadsheets should,work the same click Next,all that should be good we're going to,open the database for editing finish is,gonna ask where you want to save this,database so just save it somewhere,addresses okay so this point we're gonna,click on the sheet here this is the,sheet we just created in the spreadsheet,but now it's in a database format you,can see that first line is now they call,them names and when go file new and down,to labels at this point we're going to,choose our database here which we named,addresses choose the table which would,be sheet once our only table and then,here we're going to add the fields we,want now how we're gonna set them up,over here is going to be how they're,gonna show up on the labels so I'm just,gonna click name at name,address the city and zip and then I'm,going to space these out as they would,be named on the first line address on,the second line and city and zip on the,third line there next we're gonna choose,what type of labels you have so I'm,going to choose avery letter size,because that's the size of our paper,avery is the brand and then down here,choose whatever is the the paper it,should say on the package,what type of labels they are just choose,whichever one you have and then click,new document so now we get this this is,the output of what it's going to look,like obviously right now it just has,fillers in there so what we're going to,do next if you hit f4 it'll show you the,sheet that we're using but if we go up,to window actually I meant tools and,then down to mail merge with wizard and,basically I'm just going to keep,clicking next here and eventually we're,going to get to a point where we're done,now we're gonna save an
