WHAT SORT OF MUSIC INDUSTRY WILL EMERGE?

WHAT SORT OF MUSIC INDUSTRY WILL EMERGE?

ladies and gentlemen Karuna talk time, again it's the dark of the night and we,are here with the famous person from,Ireland again is Alan Morel from, primordial thread some rain and a couple,of other bands is joining us tonight to,give us some kind of good stories, narratives and other madness from L and,I hope actually so Alan hello welcome to,the show thank you for being here,no problem I'm here drinking out of my,United Nations coffee Mac coffee mug, which is an obviously a good omen, definitely can't go wrong we have a lot,of topics to talk but I would like to,start with some Z's to get into the, night you posted an Instagram a couple,of days ago it is the first summer, without festivals for you 420 since 20,years about that yeah I'd say so how do,you feel about that how is it going is,it something that's you know you're,really missing or have you kind did you, find a way to adapt and well we find a,way to attacked I mean of course I'm,missing it and yeah I mean look it's,it's a life without purpose and, adventure and I'm not a home bird,I don't enjoy pottering around doing, little every day so you know and also, for people it I think that it's a whole, load of different experiences for, different people depending very much on,your circumstance a it's I mean look I,found I've been just running every day, keeping fit let's go stuff but this is,not the same as having I guess it's a,kind of purposelessness to it all, yeah it's difficult you know I mean it's,it's not the most difficult like I think, far great it's different more difficult, for things you have to deal with but, yeah it's it's it's a strange and, curious but yet also rather dull do you, have to feeling that you know like this, kind of staying at home being some kind,of isolated although in some way helps, you to create a rapist or that sovereign,or to continue writing stuff for, primordial is it in any way helpful for, creativity or is it only hurts fruit so,to speak again somewhere in somewhere in,between I I mean primordia wasn't broken,it didn't need to be fixed I but at the, same time I do understand for some of,the other guys it's been a little bit, different experience I mean you have if,we range it from one to ten on the scale,of one being something you obviously, really enjoying ten being the worst, you know you veer from four to seven, some of the guys enjoy it who are, families who have been able to take for,the first time somewhere off and they, enjoy it for different reasons and you, know it's almost like an extended summer, holiday if you haven't lost your job, that's very important to the, purposelessness or the you know the, purposeful intent of this time but for,me without let's say job or family and, then you have the feeling that almost, defines you taken from you then yeah you, have to adapt and find some sort of new, purpose for your energy which has I'd,have been in the discipline of keeping, fit like going out everyday doing but, sometimes just running ten 15 kilometres, etc and concentrating on the po

Why Taxes Matter To Your Investments | Erik Averill, Brandon Averill | AWM Insights #19

Why Taxes Matter To Your Investments | Erik Averill, Brandon Averill | AWM Insights #19

hey everyone welcome back to another, episode of awm, insights where we cover all things, investing,we are excited to jump in to a,conversation, about taxes brandon it's july 14th are,you excited,oh i'm pumped when tax day is right, around the corner it's always a good day, right,oh always a good day now for a lot of,our audience listening they, they may actually be unaware so because,it's 2020 the the strangest year, ever the government has actually, extended the tax filing deadline to july,15th and so for a lot of individuals, they have,of course waited until the day before, but the reason we want to talk about, taxes today,is for us it's not just a focus,on investing it's actually a focus on,net worth and branding can you give our, audience a little, insight into why we're even talking, about taxes,on an investing podcast yeah definitely,i mean taxes at the end of the day, affect everything, nobody that i've talked to at least gets, fired up about paying taxes but they are, reality and so when we're making, decisions whether they're financial, planning decisions,or certainly investment decisions we,need to be taking taxes into account,so uh while you know 7 15 isn't a day, that anybody really looks forward to,it is a welcome break for us to take our, mind off the short term, impacts that we're seeing as we try to,figure out what's happening with kovid, and turn our attention to something that,we can control and and helps us to make, better outcomes for our investing, decisions and really what we talk a lot, about right is,is taxes is not something that happens, once a year really this is,forward-looking this is tax planning, because the focus is on net worth it's,it's really when we think about, investing,it's a means to an end it's a it's an,opportunity to,hopefully grow our wealth but what we as,investors, and people really care about is the net, returns the amount of money that hits, our pocket,it's interesting morningstar had, published an article, that from an investment return, standpoint, taxes really accounts for a two percent, annual drag which is very dramatic when,it comes to your investment returns, brandon what are what are some of the, things that investors can,do to minimize the tax by when it comes,to investing, yeah i think the biggest thing is,understanding your situation,if you're in the highest tax bracket,we've covered them on,previous podcasts but make sure that, your portfolios are utilizing what's,called, asset location if you've got an account, that is a taxable account and then you, have some retirement accounts you, certainly can take advantage of this, for people also that are able to save, money outside of retirement accounts, there's,a practice called tax loss harvesting so,those are just two quick examples that, you can focus on,but i think it's really just looking, through the lens of,how is this going to impact me from a,tax perspective, does it generate income and if it does,is that income, after taxes justified for the investment,it's,it's really a mindset it's

Future of Work, with Mr. Mark F. Averill

hello and welcome back to leader up a,podcast of army management staff college, leader up is a professional conversation, where we discuss a broad range of,leadership, and leader development topics with an,emphasis on the army civilian, professional,i'm your host david howie,on today's episode of leader up we,continue our discussion with mr mark, averill, the administrative assistant to the, secretary of the army,in the previous episode with mr avril we,talked about the safer federal workforce, and in today's episode we continue our, discussion and we talk about the future,of work,so let's get right to that topic and mr,mark averill, and i'd like to move, kind of to the second big topic and this,is related,uh to the the covid response from two,and a half years ago,and it's this idea this concept of,future of work, and just what is that concept and what, does that mean because i think i think,we're trying to talk more about, just can i tell a work, and more about uh,an encompassing broad look at,what the future of what it means to work,as a as a member of the army civilian, corps, well certainly be glad to so again we'll,kind of start at the top,uh you have uh opm really is the one, they're hosting right now,and we'll get that dropped in at some, point the website for where you can go,to see the future of work much like the, safer federal workforce uh just recently, opm started hosting the future of work, website so it's very informative but, really what it talks about is the, pandemic force agencies to transition to,a new way of working,as the federal government considers the,post-hybrid work environment we need to,leverage the lessons learned from our, work during the pandemic and reimage how,we work, and they have they talk about some core, principles that they'd like to get out,of this future of work one, promote a flexible and agile, workforce empower agency decision making, strengthen diversity equity inclusion, and accessibility in our workforce and, consider our local communities they talk, about some interesting uh stats that, prior to coven 2019,only about 50 of the uh federal work, civilian workforce were eligible for,telework,90,in in 2020 so a significant uh,improvement, the other thing is,that you know as they've done a bunch of,surveys probably our civilians certainly,on the feds and if they see the changes,in the deox there's been some targeted, questions on the future of work and, telework and you know do you feel that, your agency has you know taken steps,uh to to to manage for the future of,work and so they're a big response right, now 84 of the of the civilian workforce, agree that their agency has the tools, and resources needed,to respond right to future emergencies, inside the future work and 86 percent, said they were able to successfully, transition the workforce to the maximum, telework right and we talked about that,as part of the hp con so,so there are some foundational sets but,but you brought it up many people when, you talk about the future of work, they go direct
