Quick Question #1: Should You Launch Multiple Shopify Stores?

what's up guys it's your boy jordan back,with another video,decided to switch up the framing a,little bit instead of by my desk decided,to stand up so I got a new lens and,wanted to test it out so if it looks,good let me know in the comments below,and you know if it doesn't tell me as,well,but anyways I wanted to start a new,series I recently posted an Instagram,story asking you guys for some advice on,videos and topics that you wanted me to,cover and the response that I got was,overwhelming I actually got over a,hundred DMS in one day never gotten that,many diems my life but it showed me that,there were a lot of little questions,that you guys were having and I didn't,have the time to go through and reply to,each one individually so I wanted to,start this new series called quick,questions where I basically jump in here,and do like a three to five minute long,video where I answer some of the,questions that you guys may have about,building an e-commerce business so the,question for today was is it a good idea,to pursue building multiple Shopify,stores and I think this is a good,question because I've seen a lot of,students that I work with one-on-one,juggle with this problem when they're,first getting started so I'm gonna jump,right into it in just a minute but if,you like the quality of this video give,me a thumbs up hit that subscribe button,down below join but,anyways without further ado let's get,into the questions,okay so I just watched that intro clip,back again it looked like I was entering,the gates of heaven or something with,the background this camera stuff is,confusing especially this freaking Sony,it's got a million different settings,and I don't know so trying to figure it,out so please stop ripping me apart in,the comments I'm still learning okay,eventually I'll have the best quality,videos out of everybody but I'm still,figuring this stuff out anyways though,back to the question at hand should you,begin to launch multiple Shopify stores,the question is easily answered but you,can go more in-depth on it and that's,kind of what I wanted to talk about in,this video so a little bit about my,current situation I'm focused on,building out a brand right now but along,with this,I am partnered with multiple stores,helping them grow in scale so,technically you could say that in my,current position I run multiple stores,but it wasn't always this way and I do,not recommend that you guys put this as,your beginning goal once getting started,the thing about running multiple stores,is that you wake up every day with a,little bit of a scattered brain you,understand that you have certain goals,to accomplish with each of these,businesses and that's gonna take you,different strides to get those goals,accomplished so it makes your energy,kind of spread out like this and you,really once you're first getting started,out want to be able to devote your full,time and energy towards one business so,the short answer to the question is,is no you shouldn't begin with multiple,stores and I see this all the time,people get started and they say okay,well maybe I'll just build this store,around pets but then I'm gonna run this,general store alongside of it and I'm,gonna test them both and I'm gonna see,which one does better this is the worst,way that you could possibly do this,because you're not gonna be able to,properly learn the right way to do,things and you're probably just going to,end up hindering yourself even more,because you can't put the right level of,focus towards your business so what is,the ultimate structure that you should,go for when talking about this question,in my opinion and out of all the ultra,successful people that I've seen with,e-commerce the multi millionaires that I,met personally this seems to be the best,structure to follow you pick a business,model that you want to build off of you,focus heavily on building one store in,that model whether that be a general,store or a niche store you scale that,store up after months and months of,working on it and you build out the,systems behind that business you figure,out each little thing that it takes to,get you to those results and then you,hire the right people to fill in the,gaps so you're not doing each and every,piece of the work some examples is,customer service order fulfillment,product research so I had a blank there,video ads etc once you can fill in the,blanks then you can realize that you're,in a different position the position,that you're in now is the business owner,you're managing everything and you have,a full overarching understanding of how,the business is run and then it's not so,much of wake up each day and okay I need,to launch three products and I need to,message back 30 customers and whatever,it is you wake up each day saying okay I,need to talk to my team let them know,what our goals is for the week and you,know let them get at it and accomplish,it and once you can get to that point,what's your business that's when you can,say okay we can keep scaling this but,now I have a little bit more free time,now I have a good understanding of the,systems behind all this so I can pull,back on this one a little bit and change,these systems over to another business,and once you're able to apply those,systems to another business,get that skillet this is how you build,your empire this is how you can have,multiple seven-figure stores running at,the same time but like I said if you try,to start out by building multiple stores,it's like running with an ankle weight,it's gonna be a million times harder so,so the person who has Anita's question,there's your answer if you're just,getting started do not do it if you're,already building up automate everything,that you can hire the right people and,then scale and move on to something else,or if it's a brand and you're really,passionate about it don't move on to,something else try to build it into,something huge look at movement look at,fashion Nova etc you don't have to have,multiple stories to be successful but,that's one path to take and that's the,path that I want to take so my main goal,is to blow up and then act like I don't,know nobody is to build up this brand,scale it and then like I said once I,have the brand building process mastered,I want to continue to replicate that,over and over and over again you guys,are gonna be along for the whole journey,so excited to bring new content around,that but like I said just a quick little,short video the structure for my channel,is gonna follow like this I'm gonna do,one video a week where it's like 10 20,minutes long where I break down,something really specific I know you,guys like those videos I'm gonna do a,quick question video like this so you,guys can just hop on watch this when,you're eating lunch or just you know in,a car or something light and then we're,also gonna try to make like one of those,like mindset type videos each week just,sharing something I so in today's video we're gonna talk,about how I manage multiple Shopify,stores so you guys could kind of get an,idea how to manage yours if you are,running multiple dropshipping stores now,before we get started I just want to go,ahead and ask you guys if you find the,background music distracting I'm not,sure if you guys do because I try to set,it in the lowest volume possible where,you could still hear the music but it,doesn't drown out my voice and if you,guys do found in find it distracting go,ahead and let me know so I could just go,and remove the music from my videos well,I can't remove the music from my past,videos but I'll just continue making,videos without any background music or,if I do I'll just add it when I'm not,actually teaching you guys stuff also if,you guys want to download the free,e-book on dropshipping its a beginner's,guide you guys could go ahead and do so,the link will be down in the description,and with that said let's go ahead and,get on with the video,so this is how I manage my stores now I,actually run to stop shipping stores,they're both niche specific they're not,general they're not fraud stores they're,two very different niches,I don't outsource when creating the,stores I don't outsource anything I,designed it logo design the layout the,ads I do the research I add the products,basically I do everything when setting,up the stores and then when they're done,or when I finish one store and I start,generating sales I start running ads in,seeing the store actually growing and I,could see it going somewhere then I go,ahead and and hire two representatives,for each store so a total of four and,when I hire them I just basically let,them know what's going on what product,I'm selling I give them more information,on the products that we're selling now,that way they could better assist a,customer if they have any questions I,also informed them of our shipping,policy or how um are shipping takes and,how what to reply to the customer,shipping is taking too long,I have this little script for them it's,a very basic script what to reply if the,item is taking too long which will be,included in the course by the way so I,give them that and it's this really,simple template where they just,basically enter the name and and I just,tell them you know what to do just in,case the product takes too long if it's,take more if it's taking more than two,weeks or if it's taking a month and,whatnot I let them know what to do and,if they don't know whether they should,issue a refund or not because I do allow,representatives that power or that,control over refunds I know some of you,guys might feel a little bit skeptical,but I make sure I choose the best reps,that I could so I could trust him with,that job so I basically tell them under,what circumstances they were allowed to,issue refunds and when they're not,allowed to issue refunds,now if they're unclear they write that,information down as well as they issue,any refunds or they in the email section,they receive any chargebacks or,basically I received any chargebacks,they write all that information down as,well as they accumulate the price of,total refunds and they pass that over to,my manager so he basically gathers all,that information compiles it and sends,it over to me now the other role of my,manager is to see if they're doing their,jobs if the representatives are slacking,off if emails aren't getting answered in,time if it's been like two days and,nobody has answered any emails he goes,ahead and talks to them and if it,happens continuously we actually have to,fire a representative because they're,not doing their job and the manager goes,ahead and looks for a new representative,to fill in that spot another role that,he does is he monitors my social media,accounts so basically if there's any,negative feedback or not necessarily,negative feedback but if anybody talks,negatively on any ad for example if,we're just advertising watches and,somebody states Oh cheap-ass watches or,what the or you guys are just, drop shipping the swatches or,anything like that,my manager goes ahead and deletes those,comments and he also gathers any,information so he gathers how many sales,were in the store that day as well as,how many refunds were issued then he,gathers all the the products that were,sold so basically all the sales and,before placing the order on overlook,isquite what he does is he also goes,ahead and places the orders on over lo,so I don't have to basically fulfill,anything or anything like that and he,has access to my business debit card I,just don't actually want to quickly,clarify that my manager is actually a,close friend of mine,so I trust him with those stuff now if,you're actually outsourcing your manager,you might not want to trust him with,that but since the manager is one of my,close friends I do trust him with my,business debit card I mean my business,credit card so what he does is he,basically compiles those sales from both,the stores and then tells me what the,total cost is and I basically give him,the green light like okay yeah go ahead,place the orders and he goes on and,places the orders that day,then the same thing if there's any,refunds he compiles it and he's like you,know what these are all refunds these,are all charge bags and if somebody,messes up with a refund we go ahead and,let them know we give him 30 warnings we,give a rep 3 warnings and if the rep,actually goes for a fourth warning or he,messes up a fourth time then we have to,let him go because we don't want to,consistently be closing be losing money,then that actually at the end of the,week he goes ahead and compiled all the,information for me as well and just,provides it to me so I could go ahead,and make any decisions whether I need to,update a store or at a product or maybe,a certain product or one of the niche,stores is kind of slowly dying now and,it's not being as profitable as it used,to be then when I go ahead and do is try,to add more product and if it doesn't,help and I go ahead and switch stores,and just create a whole new niche store,and then just go from there and the,process starts all over again and then,we just reinforce our wraps we're,changing stores and give them a whole,new set of information of the product,that we're selling and what to tell the,people just in case they have questions,about the product now I could go ahead,and add a third one that's very easy to,do at this point not gonna even have a,fourth or fifth but I don't do it,because I don't just want to focus on,Shopify I like diversifying I also do,Amazon and I do youtube videos so it,just doesn't leave me a lot of time to,run multiple stores so I just go ahead,and stick with to something that's,really easy to manage and still provides,me a lot of income so hopefully you've,managed to kind of get an idea of how I,run both of my stores and maybe you guys,are setting yourself and don't know how,to manage them or you after doing,everything I would really recommend you,guys outsource some of the work you,don't want to do for example I don't,want to sit in my computer answering,customers emails and issuing refunds and,looking at charge bags and then adding,all that together I just don't want to,spend my time doing that I'd rather,spend my time doing videos or just,creating stuff or making any store or,looking for new products I don't want to,spend my time doing that tedious work so,that's all I have those people in place,so they could just help me out and,assist me so all I have to do is just,focus on basically crawling my stores or,going on and creating new businesses or,just looking for new products or,whatever the case may be I'm able to,focus on other things besides my store,because I outsource a job that I don't,want to do that was pretty much it for,the video I hope you guys enjoyed it,by the way I will be having the course,soon I plan to actually have it finished,by next week then I'm gonna have a,couple of people actually test it out,I've already closed the testing,registration thingy so if you guys,didn't register you guys are gonna have,to wait to the product that's out so,those people are basically going to be,reviewing the course and if there's,anything that you know it's needed or if,they feel like I don't explain something,well they're basically gonna go ahead,and tell me so you guys could have a,finished product and a a well finished,product there you go so that's pretty,much it for the video I just want to go,ahead and let you guys know that I no,longer will be accepting or will be,giving out free courses that was only,for a group of people to actually test,it out because I want to I want to make,sure that the course is coherent and,that it's easy to understand I actually,plan to have the course done by next,Thursday then the people that actually,partake on the testing out or the,testing stage they will get about a week,or maybe even two weeks to actually,review it and while that's going on I'll,actually be just trying to fix anything,if there's anything wrong with it I'll,be adding more stuff
