Using Power Editor to Create a Facebook Ad to get Event Responses

today I want to talk about creating an,advertisement for an event that you have,coming up there are many things that you,can do to advertise in your Beachbody,business but today I just want to talk,about advertising an event that I have,coming up so I've already created the,event I'm not going to talk about how to,create an event in this video look at a,different video that I will do for that,information,so today I've already created the event,so now it's time to actually advertise,for it so I want to go into the event,you'll see here just as a side note it,says not boosted and it says that this,event can not be boosted because it,doesn't meet Facebook's,ad guidelines the reason is is because,this picture this picture does not fit,in the guidelines that Facebook has for,pictures basically the main guideline is,or there's lots of different points but,the main thing is is you can't have more,than 20% of the picture,being covered with words so literally,your words have to be like right in a,little corner somewhere so there's not a,lot of room for words in facebook ads so,that is why that's not boosted but I,highly encourage you to not boost posts,to not boost events I know it's tempting,it seems super easy and less headaches,but it doesn't get the same return as,what I'm about to show you well so I,want to copy this event link so that I,make sure that I have the right event,when I go to create the ad so that's why,I went into this event so that you will,see the event that we want to advertise,and I will be able to have the link for,it so now we go back I want to get into,my business page my coach TV business,page so once you're on your page you'll,see this little arrow down and that will,bring you to be able to manage your ads,and then now there as far as I know,there's two ways of creating an ad you,can use this,little green button over here that says,create ad and again seems very easy you,just click that green button no do not,click the green button you need to go,the hard way because when you try to do,the easy way I will tell you from,experience you will get so frustrated,because you will lose all of your work,because it doesn't get saved the way it,does in power editor so I want you to,always create your ads unless they,change things unless Facebook changes,things in the future but right now as of,today when I'm taping this video power,editor is the best way to get your ads,created so the way you do that is you go,up to ads manager and you find the words,power editor and you click on power,editor now there are three steps to,creating an ad through power editor you,have to first create the campaign then,you create the ad set and then you,create the ad sounds crazy but this is,just the way you do it so click on,create campaign I'm going to call this,build better confidence challenge and I,want to change this to event responses,my ad set is going to be confident,challenge ads and then my ad is going to,be April 25th challenge you can name,this stuff whatever you want this is,only for you but it's just a way to keep,you organized so then you hit create,okay perfect so here we go now you have,these little folders so you'll see or,you have a folder and it's your campaign,so this campaign that we're working on,is the build better confidence so you'll,see this little pencil thing here if you,click on that it'll slide over to the,right so it'll open up your field of,view so you will see,um you know the status of everything you,can keep track of your results and your,reach and all of that we can talk about,that and then in a different video but,today I just want to talk about creating,the ad okay so click on that little,pencil and you can set a campaign,spending limit but you shouldn't need to,if you set it up correctly so let's go,click over here down to ad set now that,will allowed this is our confidence,challenged ads very good you can rename,this if you feel like you need to my,daily budget I am going to do as five,dollars and now I want to start so this,we're getting into setting up the ad and,when we are budget our schedule our,audience the audience part is the fun,part so let's see so the event starts,April 25th the nice thing is is it's a,free event so nobody has to buy anything,so I don't have to worry about people,ordering stuff or anything like that so,I am going to start it as soon as,possible because I'm gonna get people in,this event and then I want to end this,I'm going to end this the night the day,before because you know anybody can get,to it,like it whatever time so I'm going to,end this at let's say 11:00 p.m. on,Sunday the day before and you can,actually do okay so if we have a,lifetime budget so if you switch the,cool thing is I'm about to show you is,you can run these ads different times so,if you wanted to switch this so even,though I set it up as a daily budget of,five dollars if I switched this to a,lifetime budget so that's the lifetime,budget that I have set for my ads for,this year but I'll probably change that,um it was just you know I just set that,randomly and I had no rhyme or reason,but,if I want to switch the times so if I,know that during the week my people my,people are looking at their Facebook at,around you know 6 a.m. you know 6 to 9,or whatever on Monday through Saturday,and they are looking at their Facebook,during lunch I can even do it like this,too so if you know that certain there,are certain times of day that your,audience is going to be looking at,Facebook and you only want you want to,really get a good bang for your buck you,can actually do it this way but the only,way you can do that is if you have a,lifetime budget set so there you go,so that's pretty cool right or you can,have it where your ads run all the time,so I'm going to set it up this way cuz I,think this is kind of cool too to do,that and now I want to set up my,audience and I want to target certain,people it is really cool to be able to,set up a target audience now you can you,can set things up in many different ways,I am going to set up let's see I'm gonna,do Canada because we are live in Canada,and I'm also I've been advertising to,the United Kingdom and the reason why is,because even though we can't do coaching,there yet I want to start building an,audience in the UK because Beachbody on,demand went live in the UK recently and,you know 135 other countries but I know,some people in the UK and surrounding,countries and I want to target that area,just in case,the coaching opportunity does come about,I have already started an audience there,and it'll be easy to open up my or our,team in that area so just just a side,note there ages so think about the age,group that you are that you want to,target so I want to target I can really,hone this in you know you have to think,about your target audience who are you,really targeting I'm gonna set up 22 to,45 and women speaking English because I,don't know any other language okay,English and I know there's French,speakers in Canada but I can't worry,about that okay detailed targeting,include people who match at least one of,the following so this is where we can,get really really honed in so I'm,looking at people that need to build,confidence so people who and I also am,looking for future coaches so I really,want to get this kind of kind of honed,in so I want to I can do all sorts of,stuff and I want to think about my,target person and who I'm really,targeting and I'm really talking,targeting like mommy's right stay at,home stay at home stay at home mom's I,can do people who like to do online,shopping I can look at to start to think,about the behaviors and interests of the,people that you are that you're,targeting and I am targeting people who,let's see I like to drink wine so maybe,people like red wine that I'm targeting,people who like to be creative so,creative ideas sure people who let's see,what else,I don't know people who are building say,let's see if there's anything about,building confidence see nothing on,building confidence are ready come dance,let's see and so yeah so you can come up,with different targeting different,things that you want to target people on,based on their personality that you,think your target market would have okay,so I think that's good I could do I,could do working mom working mom yeah,well people who like working mom,magazine you could do that you could do,Amazon Prime let's see it is there,anything yeah,Amazon Prime you know just a mist let's,see because I like to shop on Amazon so,maybe my target market likes to shop on,Amazon - so I want you to start to think,about these kinds of things I like to,stop at Target so let's see so we'll say,you know oh that was employees that's I,don't want to employees of Target,I want people who like to shop at Target,so let's get rid of that let's see,target interests okay so anyway you can,you can add more things now is there a,connection do you want to look at people,who like your page do you want friends,of people who like your page exclude the,people who like your page I really want,to not get that honed in I really want,to keep it more broad so I'm gonna keep,that you know kind of open so I'm not,going to really hone it into,move far if that makes sense and then I,don't want this on the right column I do,want this in the mobile newsfeed and the,desktop newsfeed and I want to be able,to get on to all mobile devices and,let's see let's look it's event response,so we'll deliver your ads to the right,people to help you get the most of an,interest at the lowest cost very good,that sounds good and now Manuel I like,to switch this to manual and I like to,see it's a suggested bid 24 cents I'm,going to do 17 cents ok I've done I,typically am anywhere between 10 cents,and 20 cents it seems like when I look,at like my history so that's a really,good that's a really good price if,you're looking at ads so I like to set,that to manual and then we already did,that so that is a really good I think,we've really honed it in a lot so I just,want to look again at my detailed,okay so mommy's that sounds good I'm,sure there's more things that I could've,let see people who like Fitness,behaviors let's see people who like to,who I mean I'm so boring I'm trying to,think right now I'm like off the top of,my head you could write things down so,that you have it you know readily,available so you're not thinking off the,top of your head but that's good for now,so I'm going to click that and then next,we have to actually create the ad so we,click on the ad and this little pencil,over here will help us so we're going to,choose the Facebook page let's see,I want yes this is the event the,building stronger confidence so that is,the event that I want all right Peter,okay let's see I want my coach Jamie,Paige okay so there you go that's better,so we have the Facebook page the event,that we're going to be doing and now,this text I will show you if you I'll,show you where this pops up it'll see,the text actually pops up at the top of,the the picture here okay so if you find,yourself avoiding social situations or,change your clothes so I'm just typing,some things out because I want you to,hear my thought process okay you only,have you only have so many characters in,this in this section so you want it,something that's going to grab their,attention so you want it to kind of like,hit a chord with them so if they're,reading this and they say if I find,myself avoiding social situations or,change my clothes multiple times before,you leave the house this may be an event,for you,okay now I could change that I'm you,know I'm not a hundred percent sure if,that's what I really want but we'll see,okay so now I've created an add-in let's,see I want to look at this I created an,ad in canva right so which one do I,think let's see let's try this one now,you'll see it kind of looks similar to,the event you know the way the event,banner looks now it is wrong I'm going,so I want to crop the image I want to,make sure that I am getting this correct,I want to do a good job with this and,make sure that we get all the right,information in here and it looks good,now because I had to do this it may it,may say that this is more than 20% so we,will just we'll see about that but just,know that this your words have to be,less than 20% of your entire picture so,okay no the other thing is pixel,tracking that is something really,advanced and you can research that on,your own and learn about pixel tracking,and conversions through all of that it's,way over our heads today so I just want,to look at this right you know just look,at this right now so if you find,yourself avoiding social situations or a,change or who has multiple times of,really the house was maybe an event for,you we all could use a little more,confidence,join the,free seven seven day challenge and learn,how to build better confidence okay you,find yourself avoiding social situations,or change your clothes multiple times,before you leave the house this may be,an event for you we all could use a,little more confidence join this okay so,I'm going to try to I love that it gives,you it gives you like a little sneak,preview of what of what it's going to,look like in the newsfeed so you can see,what it'll look like in the desktop,newsfeed and then also the mobile,newsfeed so then it'll show you here how,it will look in the mobile news feeds so,that looks awesome so there you go,perfect okay so here we go we are going,to go ahead and get this going I think,this looks really good and I think it's,a great way to start and there and,everything looks good to me so I want to,now go ahead so I want to go ahead and,get this started so there you go that is,how you set up your ad and you get going,with your ad so I want to apply so I've,applied all of these changes everything,is good I'm gonna I'm gonna go now open,this back up and right now it says it's,in draft so I want to that's a review,okay,it looks like everything is good to go,so I think I think we are good to go,so now I'm gonna go and review these,changes everything looks good to me I've,reviewed everything I'm going to apply,any of the changes so I reviewed the,changes applying these changes now all,of the changes are complete the campaign,is ready to go I'm gonna click done and,there you go,it is now done and off of my off of my,plate so the power editor is just kind,of like the Backhouse way of getting,things done so if you have a if you have,somebody who is managing your ads for,you so down the road you might hire,somebody then they or you might be,working with somebody do everything in,the power editor before you do it live,if that makes sense so this way you are,the one in charge you're the one,reviewing so if you have somebody else,creating the ads for you you are the one,that's actually doing you know actually,saying okay I'm approving everything and,now let's go so they don't do anything,if that you're gonna have somebody work,on this they only do it through power,editor then it sits and waits for your,approval,so that is that is just I think the,easiest way of setting up an ad for an,event and the same you basically do the,same thing for an actual ad for,something out you know for your page or,or if you're you know you're just trying,to say,another ad for an event but I like to,get the event responses and so we'll see,how this goes so you'll see here it says,pending review so now we are just,waiting and pending the review from,Facebook and then we'll go from there so,hopefully that helps give you a little,tutorial and some more information hey ninjas welcome back in this video,i'm going to show you exactly what you,need to do whether you get an alert,headset may get zero purchases or,headset may get zero results or no,conversions when you get this alert and,it looks like this or like this,depending on your version of your,facebook ads manager we're going to go,through exactly what you need to do,about that now regardless if you are new,to facebook and instagram ads or if you,are already a veteran this video is for,you and i'm also going to be giving you,some pro tips on how to actually turn,more of your traffic to sales hi i'm,sylvia myers i am one of the co-founders,of the traffic ninjas if you are new to,us and if you are new to these channels,we talk about all things about highly,converting traffic to your shopify there,have been lots of changes recently and,the most frequent questions i literally,get asked like every single week is like,oh sylvia i'm getting this alert that my,ad sets can get might get zero purchases,or zero results or zero conversions oh,my god like what am i going to do guys,don't panic super easy fix let's go,through this step by step so essentially,the alert might look something like this,headset may get zero conversions or it,could set eight that may get zero,purchases whatever version you've got,right now what i guys want you to,understand is that there is nothing to,worry about because facebook is not a,human so often this alert pops up when,facebook thinks something is wrong,because some but nothing might,necessarily be wrong however having said,that we do have to go through certain,steps to make sure that it's not a false,alert that actually you've set up your,ad sets properly okay,now why is this happening why is this,happening more and more often it's,happening more and more often because,the targeting has changed okay with all,of the privacy settings being introduced,social media platforms have completely,had to change the way they target and,it's not as precise as it used to be,okay and so essentially it's become much,much harder for facebook and instagram,to find the right people for your store,because we don't have those kind of uh,lookalike audiences working so precisely,as they used to before if you want more,information on looking like audiences,there is another video uh for that and,also if you want another video on more,detailed information on how to set up,your targeting we've got another video,for that okay but in here stay until the,end because we will talk about power,tips on how to maximize uh sales to your,store from your traffic and make sure,that you do not get this alert at,sending zero purchases or that if you do,get it that it's actually nothing to,worry about because you've checked that,everything is running smoothly so first,of all you need to make sure there's,several points inside your headset that,you need to make sure a hundred percent,correct okay 100,correct,before you essentially publish your ad,set,um and also there's few things where you,will find that this asset may get zero,conversions it's a false alert but,sometimes it's a real alert so,what most of you guys do when you get,these alerts at said may get zero,conversions you just click on this learn,more and then you get this whole,whole whole information,as to why this doesn't work and what,could be wrong and it tells you like oh,my god you might have to troubleshoot,your conversion optimization like uh,what is conversion optimization this is,so complicated you might have to,optimize for different events and,essentially it gives you this whole,whole list,of how it calculates optimization blah,blah blah blah blah like honestly in my,opinion this information is too,confusing it's too much of that and in,other words guys what facebook wants you,to do,they essentially particularly if you're,new to this if you're new to this,uh let me move this they do not want you,to select purchase,they do not want you to select purchase,because they,might have never registered somebody who,purchased from your store right because,your store might be new,and therefore they're like oh my god,this is going to be really hard for us,to find,somebody who is going to be doing,purchases so what essentially all of,this text means,is that facebook is trying to push you,to go back to your campaign,and they're trying to,get you,to select something else they're trying,to get you to select traffic or,engagement or like brand awareness or,reach because they're like well this is,gonna be easier,for us for facebook it's gonna be easier,for them to find people to click on your,ads however what you've got to,understand,is that without having conversions,selected we without having your campaign,optimized from conversions,guys like you're not gonna be getting,those at two cards and you're not gonna,be getting those sales just saying,you're just gonna be having random,people from facebook just coming and,clicking okay so,whatever this help is suggesting you,i personally i mean obviously the,decision is up to you only you know your,story and your customers the best way,possible but,i,i,personally and and all of our students,we always talk about conversion,conversion ads because that's super,super important okay,so if you're getting this alert,that except may get zero purchases let,me go back here but that headset may get,zero purchases,uh if you're getting that alert,because you've optimized for a purchase,and it's a new store then,do not pay attention to this that's tip,number one okay,second you've you've selected um,conversion conversion and,campaign you optimize for purchase and,then you go and select your budget,so often when you select your budget and,let's say you put five dollars a day,bam,again we've got like oh it said make it,lead to zero purchases because your,budget is too low and essentially all,facebook is doing it's just pushing you,to spend more money would i be spending,more money when facebook is telling me,to spend more money,i don't think so like guys by now i've,spent hundreds and hundreds and hundreds,of thousands of dollars,on social media advertisement and i,never top up the budget when facebook,tells me to top up the budget i only top,up the budget when an ad is actually,working for me okay so don't be shy,select five dollars it's completely fine,to do that okay,so again if this pops up,because you've got a low budget or,because you selected purchase for your,optimization,then,that is what i call a false alarm,however however,really really really important really,important what often happens is that,when you make your headset,and your specific targeting too narrow,or too broad,that's when this pops up as well and in,that case that is real that is real okay,so,you're targeting you're targeting,essentially the people you choose,the edge the detail targeting all of,that stuff you choose here the country,needs to be the right size and in this,video we are not specifically talking,about different types of targeting but,there is another video where we're going,through detail of how to specifically,choose that for your brand because i,know so many of you guys are product,makers you're so like passionate about,all of these amazing products that,you've got you want you want to show,them to the world and it's very,important to know like how to target the,right person because essentially we're,small business owners right we don't,have all of this unlimited money just to,spend okay,so,that is that so inside this you select,your essentially your targeting group,right so,i personally don't mix too many,countries together on a small budget i,usually just just pick one country so,pick like wherever your market is like,whether it's uh the usa australia or,canada wherever that is,um most of you most of you advertise to,the united states because you know that,is one of the biggest markets out there,uh h i personally don't do like you know,so many people do like oh 18 to 65 like,no guys your ideal customer is not,between 18 to 65 plus,no your ideal customer is more most,probably in a bracket of maximum 20,years like maximum 15 20 years for some,of you guys even less so really like go,back to what we call your ideal customer,and by the way there is a video on that,where we really drill down of how,important is it to niche down on your,ideal customers so that you are not,wasting your money with the social media,giants but really targeting the right,person okay now inside here inside,detail targeting this is super important,super important inside detail targeting,essentially,what you can find here are interests,like for example home decor right so,let's say you sell racks or cushions,you know you can find like interior,designs and then you can press,suggestions and there is all of these,different ideas,as to who you could target now,often we find these alerts exits may get,zero purchases often,it pops up when you like make this super,super super super super niche down,like for example like if you just,go like you know let's say let's say you,sell products for parents,that are educational and you select,something like,specifically so niche like,uh do we even find something like,educational toy,like if we select educational toy and we,remove the interior design,ah well it still shows us a relatively,like bigger size in in millions but,uh there are some interests that are,like super super,niche down right and if you like select,one of those,then facebook is gonna get uh confused,and it's just not gonna give you,that many people like some of these,interests you know you want to make sure,that they're a good size that these,interests are really somewhere in the,millions,if you're going to choose something,that's,like in thousands or in hundreds,like if it's in hundreds of thousands,then can still work,but if this interest it's in like in,hundreds of thousands,and then essentially,these are all the people on facebook all,the people on facebook interested in,educational toy,but we only want people in united states,between age of 20 to 35 who are,interested in educational toy so this,number may appear like it's between six,to seven million but in reality in,reality it's only going to be like,estimated audience 1.7 to 2 million,right,and so some of you guys would like,uh you know again select the super niche,interest here and so when this number,estimated audience is like 20 000,or 30 000 like you might think like oh,but 30 000 cells that would be quite,amazing but in reality guys it does not,work like that in reality like if you,get,one to two percent,of your ideal customer who see the ad,click on your ad that's a good result,okay so you do the math like we need,millions in our audience to be able to,do to give facebook a chance to learn,who is your ideal customer and then be,able to get more and more sales from,that asset,so guys that's essentially it right,there's few major things why,you might be getting that epsilon magnet,zero purchases like you might either,have an optimization that you might be a,new store and you might be,running a conversion ad optimized for,purchases when you get that,like do not give in to facebook do not,give in to facebook because it's really,important that you optimize either for,purchases or any other conversion event,like add to cart initiate checkout like,like look you you essentially select,from here,like for example initiate checkout or,or add to card would be one of those i,would be choosing if you haven't had any,sales to your store i would be choosing,add to cart,uh and in that case i would not,necessarily worry about the exit may get,uh zero zero results okay,now second you might get that alert when,your budget is too low,like how much is too low some of my,exits guys even after hundreds of,thousands of dollars spent on social,media advertisement i still have assets,running for 2.50 a day okay so if you've,got an ad set that's only five bucks a,day honestly do not give in to this,alert,however however should you have not the,right targeting then this alert might be,real okay so you'll be kind of talking,about three scenarios here so definitely,go through these three steps and as i,said there is another video that really,helps you understand like how to choose,your ideal customer and make sure you've,got the right targeting so that you can,get more of that high quality traffic,and really turn it into sales,now guys i promised you a power tip how,to actually maximize sales for your,store so power tip when creating your ad,sets is really start thinking about what,kind of data you've got to create a,custom audience okay,so what facebook really loves is when,you help facebook find the right people,so start thinking about have you got an,email list of engaged customers who have,bought from you over and over and over,or who just always open your emails or,have you got emails like if you have a,physical store for example and you might,have not sold online before but you've,got all of these physical customers like,can you ask them for the email addresses,and upload that into facebook because,anything that you've got that's yours,that you have access to as data facebook,will love you for that and
